Show Brigham City, Utah Thursday, December 19, 1974 22 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, PODGES Music program 19 mm set for seniors The Friday program for local area senior citizens will feature Christmas music presented by students of Kathy Biggs, local music instructor. Music on several instruments will be presented by various age students. The weekly luncheon menu will be meat loaf, baked potatoes, salad, homemade cookies coffee and punch, at the cost of 64 cents. The luncheon is at noon. 12 Reservations must be made by Thursday at 1 p.m., call Call for transportation. The Monday luncheon, at the same cost is served at 12:15 p.m. Shuffleboard, pool and oil painting are scheduled in the morning and bingo after the luncheon. Everyone is invited to attend these fun sessions, with May Jeppsen calling the bingo, Director Hazel Kaiser said. Was Cancelled The blood pressure clinic had to be canceled for December and the next one will be Jan. 21. If anyone feels they need the testing before then, LaVern Lindsay, supervisor of county nurses, will test anyone free if they will go to the nurses office in the Box Elder County court house, the director said. The hearing clinic will be held Jan. 9, one week later than usual, due to the holidays. Merle Thurgood will be in the senior lounge from 2 to 5 p.m. Hearing aids are adjusted and cleaned, free of charge, along with testing for hearing problems. The last call for reservations for a trip to the Rose parade, via San Francisco, or San Diego, by Elaines Wide World Tours, is being made, Mrs. Kaiser said. -- for Call at the center brochures for these reservations. last-minu- Dance Set The Merry Christmas dance will be held Thursday night, Dec. 19, at the community center. All over-fortdancers are invited to attend. A door prize will be given to the lucky ticket holder. Admission is $1 with special refreshments. Ladies are urged to dress for this annual ocor long casion, in maxi-skirt- s dresses. The Roy Westleys have announced a Pancake Supper to be held for the square dancers on Dec. 23. The Ogden Grand Squares will be guests for the evening. All square dancers, beginners and advanced are invited to enjoy the festivities. They will begin at 7 p.m. y RATIXI IFODIIILV Membership Free Membership is free at the senior center and classes are also free, with purchase of materials, the director explained. Oil painting class with instructors Colleen Bradford and Viola Hansen, are free, with persons under 55 paying a fee of $5 for a 10 lesson series. Monday at 10 a.m. is the time. Ceramics class is free and greenware and paints are available at the center with firing free for class members. Persons taking classes should be members of the senior center with membership free. The senior center in the Brigham City Community center will be closed from Dec. 25 to Jan. 6, when the Monday luncheon resumes. The center will be open, for other activities, along with pool play in the lower DC3 level. Mrs. Arlene Mrs. Mary Marble and Mrs. Dona Ward are in charge of the program which will be presented by the Primary children. .The Sunday school officers have made arrangements for Santa to make his appearance with sacks of candy and nuts for the small fry. They joined their son and his family for Thanksgiving and tayed over for the blessing of a granddaughter on Dec. 1.
