Show (? j Obituaries Queen named Oluf P. Nielsen during pageant Oluf Peter Nielsen, 86, of 177 North Third East, Brigham City, died at his home Wednesday morning of causes incident to age. He was born March 19, 1888, in Allinge, Denmark, to Nils and Caroline M. Andersen Nielsen. He married Laura 0. Olsen on Oct. 28, 1911, in Brigham City. He was reared in Bornholm, Denmark, where he had learned the trade of stonecutter. He came to Brigham City in 1911 where he had resided since. He had worked at Baron Woolen Mills, had been a farmer in the Bear River City area and worked as a custodian at the Brigham City library and the First Security bank. He enjoyed flowers and each of his homes had beautiful flower gardens enjoyed by friends and family. He is survived by his widow of Brigham City, three sons and four daughters ; Harold Nielsen of Ogden; John Nielsen and Mrs. Ray (Rose) Miller, both of Salt Lake City; Ludvig Nielsen, Mrs. Noall (Anna) Streeper and Mrs. Ned (Florence) Stringham, all of Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Joseph (Marguerite) Higley of Burley, Idaho; 36 grandchildren and Oluf P. by Flo Munson Miss Darrelene Lewis gave an outstanding performance as she sang two vocal solos at the local Miss America Pageant held in the Bear River high school auditorium Thursday evening. She assisted the emcee, Burton Huish of Twin Falls, Idaho, in presenting the 21 girls for their talent number. She also presented trophies to each girl competing for the title of Miss Wheat and Beet Day Queen. Darrelene sparkled as she told of the experiences she has had the past year while reigning as the queen. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Lewis, of She then Tremonton. relinquished her crown to the newly chosen queen, Miss Cami Coombs, daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Theo Coombs who was chosen from the 21 girls to reign as Miss Wheat and Beet Day Queen for the coming year. Those who came especially for the local Miss America Pageant and who visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Lewis Thursday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Parris of Virginia, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lewis of Malad, Idaho, Mrs. Mark Anderson and Mrs. D. L. Sorenson of Pocatello, Idaho. Nielsen 72 Funeral services will be Joseph Roper conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Olsen Funeral chapel Second North and Main. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Brigham City cemetery. Joseph Joseph B. B. Roper Roper, 53, of 338 North First West, Brigham City, died Monday, Aug. 5 at the St. Benedicts hospital after suffering from a heart ailment. He was born June 19,1921 in Thatcher, Idaho to Orrin and Pearlin B. Taylor Roper. He married Ruby Josephine Osmond, 66, Perry died August 6 in the Cooley hospital after an illness. She was born Jan 24, 1908 in Bloomington, Idaho to Hyrum of Elmer (Zelda) Moser, Black-foo- t, Idaho. Services will be held Aug. 9 in the Preston North stake center at 1 p.m. Friends may call this evening at the Olsen funeral home, Second North Main, from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the stake center from 11:30 a.m. until services on Friday. Internment will be in the Preston City cemetery. married Wesley Osmond Sept. 16, 1934 in Bloomington, Idaho. He died Nov. 18, 1971. Mrs. Osmond was reared in Georgetown, Idaho and moved to Bloomington, Idaho at age 16. She was a graduate of Fielding high school, Paris, Idaho. She moved to Perry in 1935. She was a member of the Perry LDS ward and a member of the Senior activity center. Surviving are two sons, Rex Wesley Osmond, Perry; James Osmond, Los Angeles, Calif.; Grace Jeppesen one daughter, Mrs. Roland (Leona) Stander, Bear River City; eight grandchildren and brother, T. Grace Bischoff Jeppesen, 77, of Harper ward, died Aug. 5 at the McKay Dee hospital in are her mother Ogden. She was born Mar. 7, 1897 in one Idaho; Jay Nelson, Bloomington, Fountain Green to Albert Fredrick and Janet Rebecca Andersen Bischoff. She married Idaho; three Bloomington, sisters, Mrs. Pearl Poulsen, Brigham City; Mrs. Cyril (Gladys) Jacobson, Idaho; Mrs. Bloomington, Lloyd (Venna) Derricott, Montpelier, Idaho. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. in the Olsen-Fel- t funeral Chapel, 205 South First West, Brigham City. Friends may call this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday. Internment will be . in the Bloomington, Idaho cemetery. Kay Noble Tracy Bennett ' Lemuel R. Jeppesen on Mar. 17, 1920 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He died on Nov. 1, 1964. She was a member of the LDS church and had served in the Relief Society as president. Mrs. Jeppesen had received training at the LDS hospital and was a registered nurse for some 40 years having worked at the Cooley Memorial hospital for some time. She is survived by two sons. Van L. Services will be held today in the Harper ward LDS chapel. Friends may call one and one half hours prior to the services at the chapel. Internment will be in the Calls Fort cemetery. Van-nuy- Noble Tracy, 40, of died July 30 at Kay Burley, Idaho, his home. He was born April 16, 1934 in Brigham City to James B. and Margaret Ann Noble Tracy. He married Margaret Powell in October of 1957 in Nevada. They were later divorced. He was educated in Yost and Malta, Idaho. Following his marriage he lived in Hooper and also Elba, Idaho moving to Burley in 1972. He was a member of the LDS church. Survivors include one son and two daughters, Darin, Delores and Christy Tracy, all of Burley, Idaho; his parents of Brigham City; two brothers and eight sisters, Jay Tracy, Grous Creek; Shirl Tracy, West Pointy Mrs. Marie Sloan, Mrs. Clair (Zelda) Rasmussen, Mrs. Howard (Naomi) Forward, all of Brigham City; Mrs. Odean (Klea) Nelson, Clearfield; Mrs. Donald (Sharon) George, North Bend, Ore.; Mrs. Judy Harsen, Logan; Mrs. Bob (Shirley) To the Expo Leaving Sunday for Spokane to attend the Expo 74 were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Anderson, Ron L. He was born May 8, 1902 in Rigby Idaho to Enoch and Amber Jane Call Grover. He married Merle Ridd on Jan. 23, 1926 in Blackfoot, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He was reared and educated in Rigby, Idaho. Before moving to Brigham City in 1934, he lived in Tooele. He owned and operated a fruit farm and worked for Brigham City corporation as a power plant operator until he retired. Mr. Grover was an active member of the LDS church, serving as a member of the Fifth ward Bishopric, in the superintendency of the Sunday school and YMMIA. He was an Elders quorum president, High priest group leader, home teacher, scoutmaster and member of the scout council. He served as chairman of the stake and ward Old Folks committees, and was former president of the B. T. Glee club and a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are his wife of Brigham City, three sons, L. Ridd Grover, Brigham City; Richard K. Grover, Provo; Scott C. Grover, Bountiful; 12 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Ursel Grover, Mesa, died Ariz.; Clarence O. Dixie Shumway Dixie Shumway, 16, of 613 Cherry Drive, Brigham City died Aug. 6, in the University Medical center Salt Lake City after an extended illness. She was born Dec. 30, 1957 in Logan to Mr. and Mrs. Perry E. Shumway. She was a member of the Brigham City 20th LDS ward and was a junior at Box Elder high school. She had,been active in the school and LDS seminary activities. Surviving are her parents of Brigham City, one brother, Scott Shumway, Brigham City; one stepbrother, Scott R.
