Climaxing the days activities was an exciting rodeo held at the Intermountain rodeo grounds in Brigham City. Many little buckaroos entered the events consisting of calf roping, Fund raiser success for riding and steer riding. Even those who didnt bareback Perry ward win enjoyed the events. J by Mrs. Max Nelson k-- large crowd attended the activities held last Saturday at the Perry town park including the miniature rodeo held at the Intermountain rodeo grounds that evening. ' It all began with a delicious chuckwagon breakfast and lots of fun activities held throughout the day. : A number of three to five year Olds registered for the little queen contest to reign over the rodeo. . Chosen as this years royalty by drawing names from a hat were Joni Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Lewis as little queen; Kristi Kunzler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kunzler and Brenda Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis as attendents. Over 25 babies were entered in the 17 categories of the baby show. Prizes were awarded to a A i'-j- lUn 1 f nPi i W : each by judges, Pierce, Ron Smith and Joetta Hirschi. Then to choose the little prince and princess and the little queen and king the names were drawn from a hat. In the zero to nine month old for little prince was Justin Noyes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Noyes and little princess, Julee Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nelson. Little King, Richard Billings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Billings and Queen, Tysha Jacobson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Jacobson were chosen in the nine to 18 month winner in Lucille old group. Members of the Primary presidency would like to thank all those who entered the contests and also a special thanks to all the merchants who contributed the gifts to be presented to the young people. All those directing the days activities would like to thank those who came out and supported them throughout the day. Everyone pitched in to make it a huge success. One step further to the new chapel. Girls Camp young girls from the Perry ward and Perry second ward spent last week at Camp Bartlett in Idaho. While there they enjoyed learning many new and interesting things about the out of doors. The girls from the Perry ward were under the direction of Mrs. Becky Pettingill, camp director and Mrs. Janace Nelson, Aaronic Priesthood Young Ladies president. Those attending were Holly Johnson, Shelly Nelson, Judy Collins, Debbie Wagstaff, Joy Marble, Susan Smith, Brenda Nelson, Nadine Rosanne Young, Valencia, Janet Higgs, Judy Smith, Lynn Smith, LaVona Jenks, Sharon Law, Jackie Wright and Debbie Johnson. On Wednesday evening Lynn and Carol Reeder went up and joined them and helped to bring them home on Thursday. Mrs. JoAnne Brown, camp director for the second ward was accompanied by 18 girls for the trip to Camp Bartlett. While the girls were there each girl was presented a special award by their camp leader. Those attending were Paula Brown, Jill Rhodes, Alisa Tingey, Barbara Lund, Sherrie The Johnston, Susan Anderson, Cindy Dinsdale, Kim Dinsdale, Susan Kristy Krambule, Krambule, Jan Whitaker, Deena Reese, Debbie Heiner, Janet Julie Maddox, Christensen and Mary Christensen. Mrs. Norma Johnston and Loudell Reese helped to take the girls up and Mrs. Marilyn Lund and Mrs. Darlene Krambule assisted with bringing them home. The KING AND QUEEN of the baby show were Richard Billings, 1 1 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Billings and Tysha Jacobsen, 10 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Jacobsen. Perry ward Junior Boys played fine ball games last weekend in regional play. On Thursday evening we took a win over the Brigham City Seventh ward by a score of 14 to 7. On Friday evening they went against Mantua and took a loss of 3 to 2. This was a real heart breaker for the Perry boys as they led the game by 2 to 1 until the bottom of the seventh Boys Take Part in who participated Regional play were Craig Ellis, Bruce Reese Nelson, Christensen, Rany Bradbury, Lawrence Kano, Barry Reeder, Brian Young, Barry Braith-waitBlake Young and Kelly Nelson. They were coached by Ron Smith. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adrain Nelson last were weekend Janaces parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mace and Brett. The Maces visited in the area for four days and have returned to their home in Kaibeto, Arizona. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Nelson have been their son and daughter-in-law- , Gary and Ruth Nelson ar.d five children of San Francisco, Boys e, AND PRINCESS of the Perry show were Justin Noyes, three month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Noyes and Julee Michele Nelson, three month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Loudell Reese are delighted overihe arrival of a new little son to join their family. The little lad was born July 31 at the Cooley hospital in Brigham City and weighed in at eight pounds and seven ounces. They have chosen for him the name of Robert Douglas Reese. Primary Graduation The Perry second ward Primary will hold their Merri Miss B graduation services Sunday afternoon right after Sacrament meeting. The girls to graduate are Brenda Tomlinson, Sandra Weight, and Maren Rassmusen. The services will be held in the Relief society room. Richard enjoyed visiting with many of their friends here before returning home. Members of the Theo Nelson family held a family gathering at Box Elder canyon last Saturday evening. Those attending the cookout were Mart and Hazel Nelson, Joe and Wanda Sebek, Grant and Janice Johnson and daughters. Bob and Bonnie Nelson and children all of Perry and Boyd and Beverly Nelson and family and Randy and Patti Nelson of Willard. The Sebeks, Johnsons and Bob Nelson family stayed over night and enjoyed breakfast and lunch before returning home. Carolyn Nelson spent two days in Pleasant View this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Visuano visiting with her cousin Carla. Promontory Reports Cake Bake contest feature of social by Doris Flint High Topper" was the name of the prize winning cake at the closing social of APMIA. It was entered by Helen Brown. Floral creation catches the eye was the first place winner for decoration. Toni Flint spent some nine hours on the creation. There were several' other entries each winning a prize.
