There is a very true statement in the song refrain, Mid Pleasures and Palaces the we may roam, be it ever sc humble theres no place like home. Whether you still call Mom and Dads place home, or your own dwelling, or a certain town, or part of the country or even a part of the world, or whatever; or whether all these places are in their own way, a home to you, they bring a warmth to the heart that none other can compensate for. So before the hustle and bustle of fall, may the last few weeks of summer be spent enjoying home and if yeu arc hot at home, may you enjoy reminiscing a moment and thinking about home wherever it may be to you. Speaking of a homey place, did you know that our usual homey Mantua was like a ghost town last week? Why? Because everyone went camping or off to higher hills to rough it for a week. and Diana Williams. They had a really good time swimming, and shopping, and rode the Snow King ski lift at Jackson Hole, Wyo. Knowlton Scouts off to Wilderness The other camping group to leave was the Boy Scouts who went to Camp Loll which is by the of south entrance Yellowstone park. Bruce Carr and Cliff Allred took Michael Allred, Don Wallentine, Chad and Cody Carr, Carl Hailing, Del Von Rice, Mike Marshall, Paul Higley, Richard Bigler and Lynn Larsen. They left Saturday and came back the following Saturday. There were 11 troops in all from the Lake Bonneville Council. Our troop earned 33 merit badges and seven partials while there. They also set a camp record in a pioneering event. The camp record was for 48 seconds and our group did it in 35 seconds. In the camp Olympics they took two first place honors and one second place position. On Wednesday they took a 20 mile hike which our boys won. Horse racing slated at Ely Top race horses from throughout the Intermountain West will be off and running during the Annual Pony Express Days, Aug. 8 and in the eastern Nevada community of Ely. Mr. Lammers has been at our church for the past 10 weeks on a summer assignment. In September he will enter his second year at Calvin Seminary to further prepare himself for the ministry. He will give his final message at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday. Our evening service is held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday school classes are at 9:30 a.m. A Church supper will be held Monday night at Rees Pioneer Park in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Lammers.
