Spending a few weeks with Mayor and Mrs. Max Mason and family is Marcie Mason who is attending school in Zurich, Switzerland. Mayor and Mrs. Mason and daughter Jacque accompanied by Marcie spent the forepart of this week in Salt Lake City attending the Days of 47. They also visited the Masons daughter Kathy who is employed in Provo for the summer months and spent sometime at Lagoon. Miller. Mrs. Leone Finch gave an interesting review of Marjorie Holmes book entitled You and I and Yesterday. Dainty refreshments were served. A lovely garden party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Christensen Monday evening in honor of their houseguests Mr. and Mrs. Holden (Launna) Brink and son Chris of Oakridge, Tenn. who are in the process of moving to Billings, Mont, to make their home. Dr. and Mrs. Darwin Woodbury accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stevenson of Layton have returned from Louisville, Ky. where they spent the past 10 days. Mrs. Davis is reported to be recovering nicely although O. C. Davis is not recovering as rapidly. Enjoying dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Taylor and family in Brigham City Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marriott. They also enjoyed a drive through Sardene Canyon. Monday evening Mrs. James Shumway and daughter Carol and son Eric attended a family party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lindsay in Salt Lake City. They were overnight guests of Mrs. Shumways mother Mrs. Mary P. Lindsay. Tuesday they were at the airport to bid bon voyage to Mrs. Shumways nephew Brian Mackay of Rupert, Idaho, who has completed his Language Training mission at BYU and was leaving to fulfill a LDS Mission in France-Belgiu- Robert Meyer and Bruderer returned Friday after visiting Mrs. and Meyer's brother-in-laMrs. Connie sister Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Pat) Smith and family in Scotts Bluff, Neb. They also visited Mrs. Meyers son Phil and daughter Ann who are employed at Waterloo, Iowa. Head Start looks for children The Head Start home Start program is now looking for children to enroll in their fall sessions. The program is designed to give those childrens as well as their families the' services they may need in the areas of health, social services education. Children are eligible for the Head Start program if family DHEW meets Income guidelines, the child is four years or older, is a member of a one parent family, minority group, emotional or socall disadvantaged or if he is physically handicapped. Criteria for Home start is much the same except that it serves the entire northern Utah area including Rich, Box Elder and Cache counties. It was held in North Fork Park in Weber Canyon by Pine View Dam. Eighteen girls along with three chaperons enjoyed the five day stay. Sandy Stoddard, Yvonne Foresgreen, and Betty Hunsaker chaperoned the group. Their activities consisted of crafts, hikes, family night, testimonial meeting, and swimming. The girls returned home Friday and all reported an enjoyable trip. evening the Primary held their Carnival. The fun started at 6:30 p.m. with a program and was followed by games, a bake sale, and plenty of food. The annual carnival is a real exciting event for the primary children. They really look forward to it and it was a big success. On Wednesday Five Weber juveniles nabbed here Five Weber county juveniles have been arrested and referred to juvenile authorities on charges of illegal possession of alcohol and carrying a concealed weapon. The five, between 14 and IT years of age from the Roy and Ogden area, were arrested by Officers Greg Kozak and Jeff Stiver. Officer Kozak said the five were stopped while riding in an automobile at Fourth North and Main He July 21. said they were arrested, referred then turned over to parents since all juvenile detention facilities were full. Saturday and Sunday in Salt Lake City learning new craft ideas and getting new materials for her hobby shop. Lloyd and Karen Thorstead have Karens cousin Patti Armstrong the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Armstrong of Robin, Idaho staying with them. She has been with them approximately a month and shell be about another month with them. The Ken Mechams have Rory Mecham from Granger, Utah spending a week with them. LeRoy and Gerri Jorgensen have a niece, Ida Sreitas from Oakland, Calif, spending a week with them. Ida is the same age as Sherry Jorgensen and they are really having a ball during her visit. LaMar (Mim) Davis and Ken Mecham spent a few days fishing at Strawberry Reservoir staying with the Dave Gillmores. The Gillmores have two cabins and are really great hosts. They reported the fishing to be fair. On Wednesday morning Rodney and Peggy Nelson and of three their children Marlene, Peggy Sue, and Jackie and LeWayne and Grace Walker and their children Bambi, Brad, Kelly, and also the Sorensens, Dewey and Carol and their children Chris and Doug of Mantua left for Logan Canyon by Beaver Mountain. They enjoyed four days of camping and arrived back home on Saturday. Farewell to be held for BC boy Ted Payne, Brigham City, at a farewell church service prior to his leaving on an LDS mission. He has been called to serve in the Brazil South Central. will be honored The farewell will be held July at the eighth ward chapel at 6:30 p.m. with Bishop R.
