Show 4 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, July 25, 1974 By Ruth Phone , TV , Mayor's Tourney highlights ladies golfing Its that time of year again for members of the Brigham City Golf and Country club ladies auxiliary, and most club members have signed up in advance to participate in the annual Mayors Tournament in which the coveted prizes are free green fee passes for the coming years summer golf season. The event is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, July 29 and 30, at the local course under the committeeship of Sue Gentry, Bea Thurston and Helen Felt. All participants should sign up by Friday, July 26, for the annual tournament in order that pairings may be announced for the big event. Winners will be announced on' the second day of the tour-- ' nament at a luncheon scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the clubhouse following the two days of play. This luncheon will take the place of the regular monthly luncheon which would have been held on the fourth Wednesday which fell on a holiday this year. There will be two flights daily and one nine-hol- e flight daily to determine winning players. Cousins visit local family 1 Mr. and Mrs. Robert Balmer and family of Brigham City entertained houseguests for two days recently. They were visited by Mildreds cousin Ronald Vogle and his wife Marilyn and daughter Denise and Christine of Lancaster, Pa. The Vogle family was returning to their home in the east after spending several weeks in California. CAMILLE PARRY AND CLARE JAY OLSEN Temple wedding slated by couple tor August Mr. and Mrs. Conway Parry of Brigham City announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Camille to Clare Jay Olsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd R. Olsen, also of Brigham City. Miss Parry is a 1972 graduate of Box Elder High school r and a graduate of the LDS Seminary. She graduated from the Hollywood Beauty College in Ogden and is now working at Roberts Hair Fashions. Prospective bridegroom Olsen is a graduate of Box Elder High school and of the LDS Seminary. He has attended Weber State college and is now working at Packer Motor company. The couple has chosen Aug. 17 to be married in the Ogden LDS temple. There will be a reception given in their honor that evening in the Brigham City 17th LDS ward. Following their marriage the couple will reside in E. four-yea- Brigham City. Vanilla Pudding from to make it from a package. We were assigned to make both kinds and report which we like best, which took the longest to make, and which cost the most. We then made Tapioca pudding and used four different ways to show which was best to prevent a crust from forming. On one pudding, we sprinkled sugar, on one we placed plastic film on on another we placed waxed paper and we left one plain. We then ate the pudding, with some sugar cookies made by Lelani. We are enjoying cooking. Reporter, Janna Walker make scratch and how Busy Bees club held The Busy Bees 4-- its sixth meeting July 8. Karla Bessinger welcomed every one here and conducted the meeting. LUPE MINJARES and DOUGLAS CANNON Local miss will wed in rites mid-summ- er Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nystuen of Oroville, Calif, spending a week with them. Mr. and Mrs. Don P. Nisonger are enjoying having her father Frank Hardwick of Salinas, Calif, spend a week here. He is also visiting in Pocatello with a brother and another daughter in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Opprecht have had his mother Mrs. Helen Opprecht of Chinook, Mont, here for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Callmeyer have enjoyed a visit from her mother Mrs. Dorothj Ashtad Alford, Surrey, England. She spent six weeks here. They took several side trips to show her the interesting places nearby. They went to Park, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Minjares, 657 South Fifth West, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Lupe to Sgt. Douglas W. Cannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Cannon of Louisville, Ky. The couple will be wed Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Fifth LDS ward, with a reception honoring the couple to follow the ceremony. Miss Minjares is a graduate of Box Elder High school, and has completed the Western Airlines Stewardess course. She also worked for three years at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing home in Brigham City. Sgt. Cannon is a graduate of Seneca High school in Louisville. He is now serving in the US Air Force and is stationed at Hill Air force base. Following their marriage, the couple will reside in Ogden until the bridegroom completes his tour of duty with the US Air Force there. Ladies golf in tourney on July 22 Twin Peaks We have our 12 club. 4-- people enrolled in sister Darleana and I have goats for our projects. We have three goats named Heidi, Bunny, and Kaylen. Kaylen is now giving milk. Heidi is my favorite goat. She is My one kid. year She old. Bunny is Kaylens is a cross between Saamen and Nubian. Goats are easy to raise because during the summer they eat pasture. And in the winter they eat hay and grain. Heidi and Kaylen are the same breed. They are Saamen. The breed is from Swiss origin. Goat's milk has a pleasnat flavor much like homogenized milk. The milk may be processed into cheeses, butter and ice cream. by Ronday S. The Lady Eagles took the green July 22 with a blind bogey tournament sponsored by Helen Royers. Winning the morning play was Annetta Ramos and the afternoon play saw a four way tie between Tamara Stokes, Riva Kathy Montegomery, Anderson and JoAnn Heninger. Coming out on top after the tie breaker drawing was Riva Anderson. Alma Bryant was the low putter of the day with 12 and four of the ladies made par. They were Alma Bryant, Sandra Charlene Smith, Goodliffe and Annetta Ramos. Next Weeks Tourney Next week the Lady Eagles will be holding a mystery tournament on July 29 sponsored by Smiths Food King. All members are invited to come and be part of the putting fun.
