Harris Mrs. Gibbs Allen left Sunday for Enterprise, Ore. where she will visit with her daughter, Mrs. Rochelle Larson and family. From there she will visit in Walla Walla, Wash, with her mother, Mrs. Mae Pieper and with her brother-in-laand sister, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Reger and family. She accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Allen of Malad. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Phil R. Harris of Salt Lake City, the occasion being the fifth birthday of their grand- daughter, Jennifer Harris. They also attended Parleys Stake conference. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall Saturday were: Mr. and Mrs. Ray McAllister, Miss Beverly Jenkins and Dr. and Mrs. Devere McAllister of Logan, Mrs. Harry Smith of Brigham City and Mrs. Vina C. McCormick of Boise, Idaho and Mr. and Mrs. John F. Conley. Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris and daughter Lori spent Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Vern Budge and family and participated in family home evening with them. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hoskins went to Ogden Saturday where they met Mrs. Hoskins sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Workman of Green River, Wyo. and visited with them. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Allen and Mr. and Mrs. Lish of Garland, spent the weekend in Elko, Nev. The Allens children, Troy and Lori spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Call Sr. of Malad. Family Party Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris attended a family party on Monday night of last week in honor of the birthdays of Mrs. Craig Morris and Kent Johnston at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Callister of Ogden. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Ken Johnston and family of Bountiful, Craig Morris and daughter and the Callister family. Following the party, Glen, Craig and Robert went to Layton to see Shawn Callister play basketball. Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John and family went to the Salt Lake City airport Wednesday evening where they met their son and brother, W. Wynn John of Lafayette, Ind., afterwhich they were entertained at dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Skip Chandler. Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. John hosted a dinner at their home with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin John and sons, Peggy Sue John of Logan, Marlene John of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Skip Chandler of Salt Lake City, J. Neal, Larry Lynn, Mary Ann and Melonie, W. Wynn John, Mrs. Esther John and Mrs. Leona Williams of Malad present. They enjoyed a delightful evening of music and visiting. Mr. and Mrs. John took their son to the airport Friday when he left for Lafayette. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Hoskins visited at the Sunshine Terrace Saturday with Mrs. Clara Hoskins, Mrs. Alice Negus and Lawerence Wells. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Howell and family visited at Robin, Idaho with Mrs. Howells mother, Mrs. Ethel Henderson Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris visited at St. John Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clark and in Nellie with Mrs. Malad Richards. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Hoskins visited in Clearfield Sunday with Mrs. Marilda K. Flint and in Ogden with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hoskins and son Todd. Kent Thomas of BYU spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Thomas. spent the past two years. Elder Halford is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Halford of Preston. Isabelle Nielsen, Aleta Nielsen and daughter Keeley and Mildred Tovey of Malad attended a quilting party at the home of Isabelles sister, Helen Thomas of Pocatello Friday. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Bary Roderick was blessed and given the name Bary Jason by Douglas J. Gibbs at Sacrament meeting here Sunday. The babys grandmother, Mrs. Vern Hess of North Garland was present for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris visited in Provo Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harris and son David. Mrs. Maurice Thomas, Mrs. J. C. (Cye) Gibbs and Mrs. Tom Shaw and children of Brigham City visited in Granger Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Thomas and family, who have a new baby son, Kevin Jay. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Thomas and family visited with Mr. and Mrs. Rex Waldron and family of Samaria Sunday. Visit Locally Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ward of Idaho Falls came Sunday and took Mrs. Wards parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Conley to their home to spend a week with them. Douglas J. Gibbs went to Tremonton Wednesday where he met his uncle, Arthur L. Gibbs, who arrived home from a vacation trip to Hawaii. Mr. Gibbs reports a very enjoyable trip, visiting many points of interest. Miss Susan Snow was the only debutante of this ward and was among those honored at the Malad stake debutante ball Saturday evening. She was escorted by her father, Samuel Snow. Saturday guests of Mr. and David P. Gibbs were members of their family, Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Gibbs, son Brooks and daughter, Valeen of Kaysville and Mr. and Mrs. Noel D. Gibbs and family of Perry. Darron Gibbs was baptized Saturday night at the Malad stake by his father, Douglas J. Gibbs and confirmed a member of the LDS church at Sacrament meeting Sunday, also by his father. Mrs. Thayne Hupp and daughters of Hansel Valley visited Thursday with Mrs. Hupps parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Thomas, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hoskins of Clearfield went to Park City Saturday evening where they attended the melodrama. Mrs. Brigham man ends course Brigham man, Richard Vesco, owner of Vescos Four Seasons Sport Center, recently factory completed a service school program at the Johnson Outboards complex in Waukegan, 111. Included in the curriculum troubleswas Johnsons course, with expert hooting instruction on how to quickly diagnose and repair outboard problems. Daphne Joscelyn will play the organ from 11:30 a.m. Any senior card club may come for lunch and use the lounge for playing except on the second Friday, when the NARFE association meets. Those without reservations may come to enjoy these treats. This is a service for those 55 or over at the cost of 50 cents. Orene Hickman, instructor, invites all novice and advanced Mondays Still room in classes Brigham City area residents were reminded of three classes, in photography, judo and fly tying, which are being offered at Lake View Elementary school on Thursday nights. Baty Morrison, coordinator of Schools the Community program at. Lake View, said there is still room in the judo class for boys and girls, ages eight and older. Registration for this class was taken last week and the first class will be tonight, at 8 p.m. A fly tying class started last week with Doug Orchard as the instructor. It is being conducted at the library starting at 8 p.m. A photography class, dealing with both taking pictures and darkroom techniques, scheduled tonight at 6 is p.m. classes. ceramic senior Greenware and paints are available at the center. Ceramics class is at 1 p.m. on Thursday. Firing is done free of charge on items made in the class. Others must pay charge for firing. Oil Painting classes are still held at 10 a.m. on Monday. "Over forty" dancers are having a special dance on March 28 for the festival season of the Mardi-GraColored flags and balloons will deck the hall, where all participants are urged to wear a mask of some type. Costumes are in order, but dont stay away if you dont have one, Mrs. Kaiser said. Prizes will be given for the best costume, if everyone participates, otherwise they will be given as door prizes. Special refreshments will be served at intermission at the cabaret corner where everyone will have an opportunity to get better acquainted. This is a public dance for singles and couples. Austin Johnsen is director with Lega and Ellis Crowther as host and hostess chairman of the dance. The Hull orchestra will present music for dancing. One dollar per person is the admission charge. These dances are a service to over forty dancers and not money making activities, the director explained. Square Dancing Monday is square dancing time and is a popular activity. There are more and more people interested in this good time evening, with refreshments served the dancers, with Virginia Marcroft as chairman, according to Mrs. Kaiser. Roy and Lucille Westley, long-tim- e instructors, have all the latest recordings for learning the basic dance steps along with group dancing. Beginners dance at 6:30 p.m. with the Golden Spike Swingers coming in at 7:30 p.m. Here is your chance to get in on this fun exercising. Mr. and Mrs. Devere Harris and daughter, Lori left Salt Lake City by plane Wednesday for Scottsdale, Ariz. for a three-da- y vacation trip. Cameron John of Logan spent the weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ora H. John. His mother, Janis Smith brought and his grandparents took him home Sunday. While in Logan they visited with Mrs. Clara Hoskins at the Sunshine Terrace Nursing Home. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall were among those who met Elder DeLynn Halford at the Salt Lake City airport Tuesday on his return from the LDS Mexican mission where he has have as the guest speaker, Sgt. Tom Burridge, Utah Highway Patrol, who will also show a film on driving safety tips and freeway driving. Anyone may come in to hear Sargeant Burridge at 1 p.m. whether or not they come for lunch, director Hazel Kaiser said. The 64 cent luncheon will be served at 12 noon, with ham and cabbage, homemade bread, ice cream and cookies, coffee and punch being served. Reservations must be made by Thursday at 1 p.m. All seniors and retired persons are urged to enjoy this service of the senior center in Brigham City, Mrs. Kaiser said. If you havent tried the luncheons come in and get your membership card, along with the food.
