Temple rite weds pair Impressive rites performed in Ogden LDS temple on March 21 united Miss Debra Johnson and Kenneth John the Swenson in ceremony marriage, with the by performed President Reed Halverson. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was hosted Chuck-a-ram- a at the Restaurant in Ogden by the bridegrooms parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Swenson. That evening the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Darel O. Johnson of Brigham City, hosted a reception honoring the couple in the Brigham City 15th LDS ward cultural hall. The lovely bride was gowned in a design featuring deep sheer ruffles and imported lace over delustered satin, complimented with an original design hat to match the gown. She carried a bouquet of talisman and yellow roses set into babybreath. Bridal Attendants Matron of honor was Julie Pixton, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Denise the and Longhurst bridegrooms sisters Tamara Cobbley, Elaine Swenson and Paula Swenson. Flower girls were Krisel Pixton and Sheila Cobbley, nieces of the couple. A yellow shirtwaist style dress with matching yellow straw hat trimmed with a sheer orange tie was worn by the matron of honor. The bridesmaids wore matching floorlength shirtwaist dresses styled with white bodices and skirts of yellow and Tremonton Womens Civic chose as has League representative mother of the year, Mrs. George C. (Arlene Jackson) Ficklin of Tremonton. She was born in Ogden to Frank W. and Verna Cordon Jackson. The family moved to Logan where she attended school graduating from Logan High. She attended Weber College, graduating through the Dee Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse. She met Dr. George C. Ficklin during his internship at the hospital. They were married January 20, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They moved to Tremonton in August of that year. In 1941 they moved to Sitka, Alaska, where her husband was commander of the Army Station hospital. Following Pearl Harbor, the women and children were evacuated to the states, so Mrs. Ficklin and their 14 year old son moved to Logan where a daughter was born the following July. Following the war they again made their home in Tremonton in December 1945. She is the mother of one daughter and five sons, and during 1967-6- they had 8 the age of Proud of Children Their son Kent, received his Duty to God award, was a Life Scout, and served in the west German Mission At present, he is attending BYU, is secretary to the elders quorum. He is married to the former Allyson Walker, who is a student nurse at BYU. Their son Douglas received his Duty to God award, was an Eagle Scout and has served a mission in Brazil. He will be graduating from BYU in April and is president of the Sunday School in his ward in Provo. He married the former Wendi Walker, who is a beautician. They have one son and one daughter. Their son George received the Duty to God award, a Life Scout and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. He has graduated from Weber college. He graduated as a pilot in the Air Force in Georgia and is now stationed at Mt. Home AFB in Idaho, and is scoutmaster in their ward. He is married to the former Brenda Goss. They are the parents of two boys. Their daughter Carole was in Whos Who in American High from Schools, graduated University of Utah as a medical technologist, and is at present counselor in the Primary. She married Ronald Cutler, CPA, of and also a graduate University of Utah. They are the parents of three sons. Their son Larry received his Duty to God Award, and is an Eagle Scout. He graduated from the University of Utah, and St. Louis university in dentistry. He served in the Army three years in Frankfurt, Germany. While there he was bishop of the Servicemans ward. He married the former Dawn Watson, a registered dietitian. She was a member of the Utah Symphony, Seattle Symphony and the St. Louis Philharmonic. They are the parents of one daughter and one son. Merchants contacted to donate prizes include Sprouse Reitz, Drewes Floral and Gift, Helen Royer, Malmrose Pharmacy, Spring Fashions clothing stores will provide the spring fashions and models for the gala event, with Local participating merchants cluding J. C. Penneys, Blocks, Sonomas, Zundels Hers, Youth Shop, Helen Royer, Classic Fashions, Montgomery Wards, Sears and Baron Woolen Mills. Themed My Kind of Girl, the show will offer entertainment numbers between sections of the fashion showings. Styles for children through mature women will be featured, with an emphasis on spring and summer fashions for the fashionable woman. Tickets for the show are priced at $1 donation for adults donation for and students and may be purchased from any member of Ladies Community club General Conference scheduled that weekend. A special Easter cantata will be presented with Reil Oyler, High Council advisor, presiding over the meeting. A social hour and refreshments will follow the program. The Special Interest area dance will be held on Friday, April 5, also in the Tremonton stake center. Time will be announced at the Fireside slate recital for Sunday Piano students of Sharon Olsen will present a spring piano recital on Sunday, March 31, at 4 p.m. in the Box Elder High school choral room. Those participating will be Leslie Julie Scharmann, Johnston, Lezlee Beeton, Pauline Kirby, Louise Kirby, Debra Linda Bingham, Julene Reeder, Bingham, Phillip Zobell, Debra Stallings, Annette Stallings, Janele Forrest, David Palmer, Jeffrey Gittins, Gregory Gittins, Tina Jones, Kevin Christensen, Susan Hansen, Scott Andersen, Barbara Olsen, Jeffrey Olsen and Richard Olsen. A variety of musical numbers will be performed, and the public is welcome to attend the recital. In her church assignments she was secretary of the Sunday School and a primary teacher in Logan. In Tremonton she has served in the following capacities: secretary, coun- selor and president of the YWMIA, ward dance director, den mother, ward organist, guide patrol leader for 15 years; class leader in Relief society, of stake and secretary genealogy. She served as a missionary at the Logan Genealogical library for years, stake Relief society organist, and is presently serving as stake mother education leader. She has supported her husband in his callings in the bishopric four years and stake president lV2 years. She is now enjoying being secretary to her husband in his office of The children have expressed their feelings that they have not felt deprived or neglected during their parents' activities. They seek out every opportunity to enjoy companionship of their brothers and sister. READY FOR SHOW All of the children have been married in the LDS temple and are actively participating in church assignments and civic responsibilities. Hers has been a full and richly rewarding life and now she is reveling in the experience of being a grandmother of nine grandchildren.
