Show Is i First Aid Brigham City, Utah Thursday, March 1, 1973 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, 18 Honeyville Hotline The road crews at Collingston were busy the entire day to keep the highway passable on last Wednesday. Terrific winds have kept the roads filled with drifting snows. in winds the Howling Coliingston area have been keeping many of the residents indoors. One of Collingston's residents that can't be kept in by the weather is Grace Warnke. Grace runs the store and is also the postmaster. We are sorry to here that Grace took a very unpleasant fall, but also very happy to report that she didnt break any bones. Accidental Falls There have been too many people that have fallen and got hurt on this years wintry ice. Tennie Ridd and Grace Rock of Brigham City both took bad falls and were quite bruised and very sore. Fortunately they were also lucky, enough to get away with no broken bones. A friend in Corinne wasn't quite so lucky however, Lou Michelli slipped and fell on the ice. She broke her leg in two places. Talking with some people in the Collinston and Beaver Dam area, I understand that both towns attend the same chapel, with James Parkinson serving as bishop. Parkinson also is one of Honeyville Elementary schools teachers. He has, as you know, just became a new father again. Visit Hardware Ranch The Mark Jensen and the Ed Bowers from families Collingston enjoyed a trip to the Hardware ranch to watch the elk feed. They had a good visit on a nice day and the drive was lovely. Excitement at the home of the Grant Marbles is really keeping the house in a tizzy. The Marbles were expecting the return of their son Brain D. Marble Wednesday. Brain has been serving a mission in southern California. This includes areas from Los Angeles to San Diego. Brain has been away now for two years and the Marbles are very excited about his return. Everyone will be able to welcome him home at his church homecoming. Visitors at our house here this last week were Phylis Young, Lucille Davis and Connie Ammons all of Corinne. We all too a quick ride to Tremonton, saw Lucille's daughter Vickey, and a friend, then returned. Our sincere sympathy goes out to the family of Mrs. Koto K. Aoki, who died Tuesday in Lake Oswego, Ore. of natural causes. five include Survivors children, two of which reside in Honeyville, Shige and Tosh Aoki. Funeral services were held Monday at the Honeyville Buddhist church with Rev. C.H. Terakawa officiating. Burial was in the Honeyville cemetery. Back Home Back from a visit to sunny southern California, are Mr. and Mrs. Warren Peterson. They have returned from visiting with relatives in the Los Angeles area. Leaving last week for a trip to the northern parts of California were Eugene and Afton Presler. The San Francisco area seems to be the point of interest for the Preslars. Mr. Preslar said he was just to tired of all our cold weather we were having around here. We certainly hope they dont like that state too well, because they were very good friends and neighbors. Leading the scouts on an overnight campout back-pac- was k and Honeyville Scoutmaster Ralph Coleman. Ralph led the scouts to Precipece canyon. The group left Saturday mdrning and returned on Sunday morning, in time for priesthood meeting. All boys were expected to attend all LDS church activities or would not be permitted to participate in the next campout. They have taken many hikes and had several campouts this winter, so all scouts were expected to be prepared with the type of clothing to keep themselves warm and dry. Problem Continues by Joy Jepperson Once again people are using Mantua as the dumping spot for unwanted animals. Many incidences could be cited but we would rather not mention these things in detail. However the last and hardest to accept was that of a box of newlyborn puppies being dumped along the road below the hill. The box spilled out and was strung along the roadway. To top it off, the first to come upon the ugly scene was a young girl. Robert Kriegh has been hired at Breitenbekers as a new repairman. He is formerly of NEW REPAIRMAN Ogden. Ladies and gentlemen it should not be left to Mantua residences or least of all our children to clean up others situations. You can imagine what this does to adults let alone the younger generations. Diane Hall was the guest speaker for the recent stake Beehive girls and mothers standard night. ....for behold, ye are free; ye are permitted to act for yourselves;... Helaman 14:30. This was the subject for the very beautiful and inspiring talk she gave the young girls. Also on the program from Mantua were Debbie Wyatt, Pamela Jeppsen and Joan Richards. A very special event on the program was the honoring of Stake Beekeeper Trina Larsen for her many years of service with the MIA. Everything is happening for Mrs. Larsen right now. Her birthday was a treat by her son calling (the day afterwards, but at least here membered)to wish her Happy Birthday. In the background Lees companion elders sang Happy Birthday and then he informed her to pick him up at the Salt Lake airport Friday morning as he is coming home. Lee has been serving in the Montana, Wyoming Mission field. He would be home sooner but he was asked to stay a day or so to help with some new elders.
