The meet is being sponsored as part of the induction of Athletes into the Indian Athletic Hall of Fame on the college campus. A banquet on Saturday evening will honor both the y athletes and the Hall of Fame inductees. Inof the Members termountain boys team include: Harrison Willie, Joe Kee, Kenneth Begay Joe Begay Jr., and Thomas Gonnie. The girls squad include the following: Lise John, Nora Gskeets, Shirley Brown, Joanne Shepard and Yvonne Tso. There's a new theme this year on the Eagle mats and that's to give as many grapplers as possible varsity experience. Coach Nelson said Intermountain's official region Nine competition doesnt get underway until January but the team has a full slate of practice meets on tap, starting this week. In fact on some days the team e matches has two non-leagu- scheduled at the same time. The freshman and sophomores will go right up into jayvee competition for a quick baptism" into the sport, he commented. This is the first time the Eagles will be in Region Nine's wrestling competition. Last year they were in Region One. Is Lettermen lettermen Five returning showed up again this year. Two Divisions There will be two divisions, boys and girls. Each school will be allowed five contestants in each division, making a total of 10 from each school. Awards will be presented to 15 winners in each division. First five will receive gold medals, the second five silver and the third five bronze. The American Indian Athletic Hall of Fame is being established at Haskell as a historical record and tribute to the will and abilities of the Indian Athletes involved and as an inspiration for our youth seeking to develop rewarding and productive lives, said Mills. These girls competed for the honor of going to the Indian Invitational track meet. The five in the sweatsuits make up the squad which will travel to Kansas. The others are alternates.
