Show BOX FLDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Society Editor's Ufah November 1972 23, Thursday, SCRATCH PAD The family pooch got skunked out pheasant hunting, in both senses of the word. Not only did she not get any pheasants, but she met up with one of the smelly little creatures known for its unusual mechanism. had Hubby defense downed a pheasant and Suki hurried through the brush to retrieve it. The family will never know whether the skunk had also pounced on the pheasant or whether it just happened to wander across the path of the unlucky dog, but the results were the same. A phone call from Hubby had the family alerted early, so when he rushed the wet pooch into the back yard and ordered the family not to let her in while he took the other fellows home and returned the News and Journal motor nobody disobeyed and let the unhappy creature In Rite Mid-Wint- er Mr. and Mrs. William C. She is attending Weber State college and is presently employed at Bon Marche of Ogden. Prospective bridegroom Elgan is also a graduate of Box Elder High school. He has attended Weber State college and served a mission for the LDS church in South Brazil. He is presently employed at Concord Motor Homes, Brigham City. Strange Shampoo First of all, an application of tomato juice made a strange shampoo that made the bathtub soon look like the site of an ax murder and certainly did not produce much lather or a very nice smell in the bathroom despite the fan being turned on. Then a good rinse was followed by lots of shampoo the type for dry hair since that is what was handiest and the dog's coat sometimes looks dry anyway. Soon the unhappy beast was all lathered up and slipping about in the tub as Hubby scrubbed the suds into her hair. Finally, she was ready for the toweling treatment and was delighted when she could climb out of the slippery tub for a brisk rubdown. Perhaps, Hubby and Mrs. Society Editor had just gotten used to the smell, for she hadnt been put into the basement for very long before the boys abandoned the TV down there and came upstairs. An application of shaving lotion to the surprised dog was coupled with the burning of incense in the family room downstairs and upstairs in Little Miss room so it wafted through the house. Banished Poor Suki isn't used to being abandoned in the basement. She has just recently braved the enclosed staircase (which has been a horror almost as bad as thunder and lightning) and is only happy in the basement when with the family or when hiding from a thunderstorm. Finally the family joined her there to watch TV, but still couldnt be sure if they were growing used to the smell or if it was truly diminishing. Since the pampered beast usually spends the night on the living room couch, it was carefully covered for the night. One aftermath of the adventure is that her curly Chesepeake Bay retriver coat is shining and lustrous and dried into lovely waves along her back. The family isnt sure whether the tomato juice or the dry hair protein shampoo have proudced the nice effect, but she certainly looks very attractive. Now if shed just smell as good, especially before accompanying the family in the car to visit Grandma for Thanksgiving weekend! - A V Wedding Lovely These radiant Brides have selected gifts on our convenient Bridal Registery KATHLEEN LKathv) NELSON Soon to be Mrs. Dennis White Reception: Dec. 1, Indian Chapel Theres something new about fondue after all Howard Johnsons Tendcrsweet Fried Clams cooked in Planters Peanut ' BRENDA BINGHAM Oil and dipped in Anchovy Mustard Sauce and Dill Sauce, can anchovies, drained and chopped 1 tnlbespoon choped chives i tablespoon chopped parsley 1 medium clove gurlic, minced '3 cup Planters Oil 3 tablespoons hot French mustard 2 tablespoons cider vinegar Combine all ingredients and chill.
