Countty reported 55 persons attended an emergency leadership conference at Box Elder Junior High school last week during which a new plan of service to the county was unveiled. The new phase of service to Box Elder county was detailed by Donald R. Spradling, executive director, Utah State Office of Emergency Services. Wally Webb, Jeff Henderson; The Republican party is planning a candidates caravan Saturday, Oct. 21, timing it with a National Day for the President, Mrs. Della Armstrong, Box Elder county vice chairman for of the President, said the group will start in Cache county and is scheduled to arrive here for a rally at Food King parking lot (Seventh South) at 10 a.m. Its expected that 35 to 40 cars will stream down through Box Elder canyon where theyll pick up a police escort. Members of the local Teenage Republican organization here will join the caravan at Second South on decorated bicycles and pedal to the rally. The best decorated bike will win a prize. Mrs. Armstrong said local GOP candidates will join the entourage as it leaves Brigham City for other stops in the state. If Vic Hoffman hooked the cars he's building onto all the others were buying, the "train" would be 23 miles long. It would have 100 new locomotives, 2,287 freight cars, loaded with accessories. Our total sticker price ran into the millions, which we pay so much down and so much a month. We hope to get the money back by hauling things for people.
