When got back to the car the wife asked who was the crazy man running through the marsh s, with the moose chasing him? The subject was dropped. The drive through the rest of the park wasnt too bad with soggy sneakers. We also came across several bears during our journey. The cameraman stayed in the car. by Zimowsky Vacations are my "thing." You may say how can this jerk get charged by a bull moose? Its simplel Just go through Yellowstone park and spot a moose in the tullies. Then ignore the signs saying "keep clear of wild animals," and sneak up on the prize for a snapshot. This photo bug got within 15 yards of the animal when a pinhead got in back of the moose and scared the living day lights out of it. Guess what happened. This Changing the subject, Mr. Z noticed the other day that one grocery store had alcoholic beverage on sale Sunday. The store had a sign on the beer stating none would be sold Sunday, but right across the Isle was a display of cooking wine. The beer is 3.2 percent alcohol by volume while the wine is 12 percent alcohol by volume. cant figure that one out. I Chairman Cites Copy Rules For Art Some concern was expressed this week over the possibility that some artists may plan to enter copies of other works in the If such a work is entered in an exhibit, the following Information must be placed conspicuously on the copy: Title of the picture as given it by the original artist. The name of the artist. The name of the copyist. annual Peach Days art exhibit. Marie Thorne Jeppson, chairman of the Brigham City Museum-Galler- y committee, said there are rules which ban such entries unless they are designated as copies. Mrs. Jeppson said the work can be classed as original if: It is an individual expression of tne artist to his environment or of his thoughts. If it is his own representation from the source, of scenery, people, animals, still life, etc., or an abstract expression of his emotions. If Have Permission If the work is from photographs or slides taken by the artist himself or by an unpublished photographer who has given his permission. The content of these is usually changed for the purpose of design, and often several photographs as well as other source materials, are combined in the composition of one picture. "Making a literal copy of a published photograph or work of art has both legal and ethical implications unless the result is clearly classified as a copy, said the chairman. Ethical Immpllcatlons While it is unlikely that any court action would result from an individual merely exhibiting a copy of a painting or photograph without giving due credit (although many court cases decided in favor of the plaintiff are on record), the elthical implications are clear to anyone who stops to think through such practice, Mrs. Jeppson explained. The Peach Days exhibit is open to all adult artists age 18 and older. All entries must be cataloged at the museum-gallerby 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9. The exhibit is to hang during the month of September. Only works not previously displayed at are acceptable and the museum-galler- y all must be framed and ready to hang. Each exhibitor is limited to two entries which must be classified as amateur or professional. Pictures in any painting medieum, photography and sculpture are acceptable. "After I got over the bitterness, which everyone goes through, I found that I could do just about anything I tried, Dr. Spurgeon observed. When did his attitude change? After I left the hospital and learned that I could do things without the help of other people. Baarley said faith helped to carry him through, this and "something that told him among the bursting shells and bloody nightmare of war to take off his belt and tie it around the stump of his leg. "What youve lost you have to forget. Theres no use moaning because theres nothing you can do about it, he commented philosophically. The attendance at the High school this winter promises to surpass that of any other year in numbers and because the population outside of Brigham City is growing in the same proportion that the city is growing there will consequently be more students from the outside attending school this winter. They must have a home and the people of Brigham City must supply that home. It is not enough that we do not desire to be put to the inconvenience of taking boarders, it is a duty that rests upon us as a community and every home where one or more students can be accommodated should make that fact known to the clerk of the Board of Education immediately in order that the students may be advised in time to become located before school begins. Move over everybody and make room for one more. The party composed Friday, Aug. 13, 1920 of Mayor John W. Peters, Dr. R. T. Willey, Dr. George M. Fister, Banker W. T. Davis and Hon. R. The situation has been blown clear out of proportion because only one side has been heard. We believe it is the right of the individual to wear his hair the length and style he prefers. It is his hair and therefore his responsibility. We also feel that the idea that long hair on boys cause too much commotion stands on a shaky foundation, as well as the idea that the majority may state whether a person can wear his hair long or not. Its not fair for others to make us cut our hair. Incidentally, why arent there restriction on girls hair? Were not hurting anyone with our long hair. Our hair is clean and combed. It is a style and a fad only and has nothing to do with "negative reaction to school, parents, teachers, law officials, or the "establishment. When we are forced to cut our hair there is much resentment toward the people who force us to do so. We dont care if other people wear their hair short. If we were in the majority, we wouldnt force other people to wear their hair long. People should be able to wear their hair the way they want (boys as well as girls). Even if long hair isnt "socially acceptable, it is still the right of the individual to wear his hair the way he wants.
