PUBLIC NOTICE BACTERIA VIOLATION Tests conducted during the months of July, August and September 1983, have indicated excessive bacteria were present in the Blanding Water System. Of the 13 samples tested, 2 samples the indicated presence of - coliform bacteria. This violates Section 3.1.4 of the Utah Public Water Regulations. Drinking State law requires that we give public notice of this violation. Test samples are taken to get early awareness of any defects in our water system. After checking thoroughly on our system, the indication is that flood waters from the mountain may have carried through the plant without a sufficient increase in chlorine to counteract this intrusion. The water system management is interested in providing you with safe water. Steps have been to correct all defects taken which may have contributed to this violation. Our most recent samples show no presence of coliform bacteria. sPhilip L.
