Womens A Division: Harris placed first Barbara and Irene Demley placed second. Mens B Division: Buddy Redd placed first and Daniel Connors placed second. Womens B Division: Adair placed first and FeHment placed second. Chris Jody Bucks finish season School gym in Moab on Saturday, November 19, beginning at 10 a.m. Nearly three million children from throughout the country entered last years competition for boys and girls in age cate9, 1, 3. and gories Each contestant is aUowed 25 shots. All boys and girls aged 8 to 13 living in San Juan or Grand counties are eligible to compete in the Moab contest. The three boys and three girls scoring the highest in their age category will advance to the district finals in Richfield in January. Richfield winners will compete at the State shoot-of- f. Winners in the State shoot-o- ff wiH compete in the National finals in Indiana. Facing a very strong Piute 1-- A volleyball team, the Raiders gave it their aU but took a disappointing loss in two very close scoring sets. The Raiders played a final game against the North Sevier to decide third and Wolves fourth place. Not to be stopped their loss against Piute, by Whitehorse attackedNorth Sevier from the first serve and won the game in two sets. The Lady Raiders thus ended the voUeybaU season as third place winners instate A volley-ba- ll a step up from last year. T-B- ird 1-- Junior livestock buyers banquet The Junior Livestock Buyers Banquet was held on November 2 at the San Juan High School cafeteria in Blanding. Kaylea Grover, daughter of Merlin and Lou Ann Grover, received the Grand Champion Lamb award with second place to Denny Jones, Teryl three son of Demis and Leila Jones. Special thanks were given to all the buyers for their support of the Junior Livestock Program, state playBeavers 63 a generaUy appeared to offer the Beavers a good deal of help in the defeat. Out of 9 turnovers by the Bucks, 7 were directly converted into touchdowns by the Beavers. Five interceptions and 2 fumbles made up the 7 converted turnovers. Coach DoweH substituted many second string players into the game looking for some help and even though they played a bit better than the starting players, were no match for the they Beavers. On the bright side of things, the Bucks finished their season with 7 wins and 5 losses. They also hold the Region 13 championship and at least a fourth place ranking in the State A 1-- football teams. It was a great season, said Wre only lost Coach Dowell, one game to a team that wasnt a lot better than we were. We were a team without a real start we had a whole bunch of players who had the heart to play the game. This is the first time in five years that weve been to the semi-fina- ls, The team is surely the most improved team that MHS has seen in a long time. The team can be proud of the season. They were a great group to work with, said Coach Dowell. Senior players on the team are: David Robinson, Shon Mike FuUmer, Lovato, Brian Tom Garcia, Jim GaUup, Deeter, Shay Lewis, Brian Sherman and Dale Whipple. Until next year, the pads and helmets wiU be put away.
