The Publication Prize is a $5,000 award given annually, if merited, to a previous winner th in one of the categories of the Original Writing book-leng- Contest. The purpose of the prize is to assure that some work possessing genuine significance for the State of Utah will not be lost to the body of published literature. It must be used solely to make a suitable arrangement with a reputable publisher for the publication of the work. The first-pla- ce winner in Class 1980-8of the 1 contest, In House Fathers describes My A- -l Dorothys experience as the daughter of Rulon Allred, who was assassinated on May 10 of 1977. The book discusses modern-da- y polygamy as well as the roots of amd ffaces Previous winners of the Publication Prize include Joyce Ellen Davis for her novel, Chrysalis, and in 1981, Joan Katherine Shaw for The Uncle & Other Stories. Airman Earl R. Lameman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lameman of Montezuma Creek, has graduated from the U.S. Air Force communications equipment repair course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. Graduates of the course learned how to install and repair teletypewriter and communications machines, and earned credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Com- m unity College of the Air Force.
