The Fifth Ward Cub Scouts, under the direction of leaders Claudia Black and Vivian Farabee visited several older people on Wednesday bring plates of goodies with a Thanksgiving theme. The boys sang songs and wished Happy Thanksgiving. The First Ward bazaar was considered a huge success. We learned today that long-tiresident, Louise E. Redd passed away following a lengthy illness. Her husband, Ancil, passed away of er. me goes to the family at this time. Shirley and Dick Ensle took Shirleys mother, to Cortez last week where they went to attend to business matters. as secretary. Margie Hurst was released as counselor. Mrs. William Hurst is in Cot- tonwood Hospital in Salt Lake with a baby girl weighing just over four pounds. We wish them a quick return home. The Young Adults group of the Blanding, Monticello and Monte- zuma Creek LDS Church Energy seminar are planning a bowling party in Monticello, November 28, 7 p.m., at Sunshine Bowl. Food will be ser- ved. In December there will be a volleyball party at the Montezuma Creek Chapel Recreation Hall for the same group. Bronson and Harold Ruby Lyman attended the State meeting of the Department of Community and Economic Development last Lyman represented Thursday. the Department of Indian Affairs and Bronson represented the State Fair Board. The meeting was held in the old Denver and Rio Grande depot, recently renovated as a meeting place. The representatives had the honor of attending a luncheon with Governor Matheson. The many friends of Mrs. Dean Pepper are hoping for her speedy recovery from recent surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Hawkins are happy over the arrival of their third child, a son, who weighed pounds 14 ounces and will be named Mark Alan. The Eighth Ward Relief Society was reorganized last week with Alice Redd retained as president. Pat Hawkins is first counselor and Lynn Ailed is second counselor. Cathy Pepper will serve 7 by Deborah Marcus Everyone from home owners to building officials is invited to participate in a free passive solar energy workshop to be held Saturday, December 5 at Edge of the Cedars Museum in Blanding.
