Land Bank credit over $3 billion The Federal Land Bank of Sacramento and its 31 associations in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah report $3 billion credit outstanding to farmers and ranchers in the five states listed on March 4, 198L The amount on loan represents a $1 billion increase over 1979. Completely borrower-owne- d, the Federal land banks obtain the money they lend through the sale of Federal Farm Credit Banks Consolidated Systemwide Bonds, which are purchased by corporations, banks, pension fund and individuals. By providing the large amounts of capital that are required by agriculture today, the land bank has made a major contribution to the tremendous productivity increased that farmers and ranchers have shown over the year, claims George P. Bloxham, president of the Federal Land Bank of Sacramento. |
