Some of the answers were frivolous by many were sober and well thought. A young man said physical appearance meant most to him. His wife thought that strength of character should be the final judgement. Dear Editor: objectives of the USSR to bury us have not changed. They seek the destruction of America and the ideals of freedom and democracy that our nation represents. I have always thought that was an obvious fact of life. He says if the military balance which favors the USSR continues "... the U.S. will decline rapidly into a second-ra- te power ... with barely enough strength to keep the wolves from the front door, let alone defend the rest of the fre'e world. An astute teacher maintained that there can be no beauty without an honest heart and . a disciplined mind. A Stake Relief Society President stated that compassion was the fundamental core of beauty in women. Two other women named self esteem as the core. Surely, this is an order of great magnitude. Even so, it is not all, and it and all other essentials to beauty are obtainable to the lady who cares. We are told that cleanliness is next to Godliness. By the same token, is it easy to attract a boyfriend or to keep your own husband happy if you slump around with unkept hair and face and wearing something less than attractive? How is it possible to love yourself if your thoughts are bitter with hate, anger, jealousy and other sour burdens? It is a fact that those ugly things show in our faces and make us unlovely to see. On the other hand, if our thoughts are not weighted down with such garbage, but are filled with charity, love and compassion, it is not hard to love and esteem our own self. It shows onfour faces to make them attractive and pleasing. It is easy for us to love others and for others to love us, and beauty is ours! Some dear souls are beautiful even while suffering ill health. It is much easier if we cultivate by proper eating. good health Leave alone the things we know tend to make us too heavy and those that do not promote good health. Wholesome food that is neither heavy or too rich will in every stimulate our well-beifield. Sometimes we fail to thrive and be happy because we are surrounded by colors that clash with our aesthetic values. The personality blooms far better if we live with and wear colors that compliment and become us with their pleasing atmosphere. No beauty is complete without grace and composure. These ng come with the self confidence gained as we learn the rules of becoming more beautiful. To walk and move with ease and assurance, to speak in a pleasing voice, using proper English and language without smut or muck, adds much to the total beauty every woman wants. Finally with all these desirable characteristics, there is one more, without which none of the others count. It is humility. A loud, bragging and opinionated mouth can smother any claim to beauty. Pages could be written about each of these stepping stones to beauty.
