Mrs. Wakefield, 60, is the mother of seven children, six boys and one girl. She was rear- ed in Huntington, Emery County, with all the wonderful experiences a large family has. She was valedictorian of her class and attended college on a scholarship. She worked in a store in Huntington for several years and married a local man, Perry Wakefield, who was a City Clerk and a Bishop of the Huntington Second Ward for 13 years. The couple did a lot of traveling throughout the states and Mexico. When Mr. Wakefield died in 1965 his wife was left with the responsibility 'for her family. The children all worked at whatever they could find to do. Music played a big part in their lives. Adeline and her husband sang many duets at the Manti Temple and the St. George Temple and they were asked to sing at funerals, weddings and many other outdoor gatherings. The children all play some kind of musical instrument and four of them are talented piano players. Mrs. Wakefield has always been active in church, com- - - - IH1.II' "' '4 munity and civic affairs. She has served as president of the ImYoung Women's Mutual provement Assn. , and as president of the Relief Society. She has also served on the Sunday School Stake Board and was Emery County Chairman of the American Cancer Society in 1960. Four of her sons are happily married and there are five grandchildren. Mrs. Wakefield's main hobbies are making quilts. Mrs. Elsie Farnsworth of Beaver was selected as Utah's Mother of the Year for 1968. She is an aunt of Mrs. Jerry Osborn of Blanding and a daughter of "Aunt Elsie" John- son, wife of Zeke Johnson. She succeeds our own Mrs. Marian G.
