Candies can be made without much muss, fuss, or bother. Heres how I do it. s. candy-makin- The most versatile candy of all starts with a package (8 chocolate squares) partially melted over hot water. Remove from water and stir rapidly until entirely melted. Stir in 1 cups of any one of the following: coarsely chopped salted pecans, salted peanuts, or raisins. I have even added 3 cups coarsely crushed peanut brittle-yumm- y! Stir until all semi-swe- pieces are coated; drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. Let stand until firm. Cereals add crunch to nocook candy in another favorite recipe. Combine Vi cup light corn syrup, dash of salt, and Vt cup confectioners sugar in a large bowl. Add 4 Vi cups puffed wheat and I cup chopped peanuts; stir until coated. Spread in 11x7 inch pan. Chill 2 to 3 hours. Cut into 24 squares. Store in refrigerator. honey-flavor- I like coconut candies-a- dd chocolate and a bit of rum ed resistible Cream 2 tablespoons softened butter; blend in 1 egg yolk. Gradually blend in cup unsifted confectioners sugar. Then add 1 package (4 oz.) sweet cooking chocolate, grated, Vi cup d coconut, and 1 tablespoon rum.
