Show V .. $ - r VV p BLM holds The Country Club was the scene of the Monticello District, Bureau of Land Management Christmas party Saturday evening. Forty-tw- o persons, BLM personnel and their guests, enjoyed a lavish dinner catered by Gus Krause cafe from Bland-ing- . The tables were draped in snowy cloths with the festive Christmas color scheme carried out with evergreen boughs and red Christmas balls. Ruby red water glasses also added to the gay setting. After dinner the guests were entertained with readings, and all joined in the singing of Christmas carols and songs. To climax the program, Mrs. Santa, in person of Mrs. Margaret Marvel, arrived to distribute the sometimes hilarious gifts. The guests then danced to taped music or chatted and became better acquainted with each other. Their son Elder Melvin Wright was released from the LDS California Mission after serving for two years. By special permission he traveled' to El Centro, Calif, where he picked up his sister, Beverly Ann and they came home together. Beverly Ann has been working at, the Naval Air Facility in El Centro. Drama presented by young people Engagement told Farewell parties bvuvf Mrs. Thayer Farewell parties last week honored Mrs. Angela Thayer before she left. with her sons, Johnny and Charles to make her home in Las Vegas, Nev. where her husband is employed. Members of the Altar Society of St. Josephs Church held a farewell party on Sunday afternoon. On Monday, women employes of the court house had a covered dish luncheon and presented Mrs. Thayer with a gift from all the employes at the court house. Mrs. Thayer has been organist at the Catholic Church for several years, as well as being an active worker in the church. She has been employed for five years by the South East Utah Title Company. The J- - M. Thayer family came to Monticello nine years ago. Johnny has been active in work where he has received honors for his work. The boys-- have also participated in the Little league baseball program, among other activities. The family will be missed by their many friends in the community.
