By Nelle Mullikin j Adventists in Monument Valley learned this week that their denomination has hit a new high in church giving. The report came to Pastor R. C. Pueschel of the local Adventist district Seventh-daChurches, from the Nevada-UtaConference at Reno, Nev. The report shows that the Adveh-tis- t average Seventh-dagave $250.28 to his churcn in 1963. , The giving figure represents more than 18 percent, of the average Adventists income, according to Ernest L. Becker, Washington, D.C., ' Statistical secretary of the Adventists Genera Conference who compiled the report. Mr. Becker pointed out to the local church that the per capita tithe and 'total giving include figures housewives, youth and retired 5- persons. Keller this week Reported that his court had re- ceived a total of 116 referrals from Grand and San Juan Counties for the three month period ending Sept. 30. Of these, Judge Keller said 46 were delinquency cases involving 49 delinquencies, 54 were traffic cases, 10 were neglect cases, two were adults contributing to the delinquency of ihinors, two were parolee placement investigations for another state and two were investigations for other agencies. total comThe three-montpares with 71 cases during the first quarter and 92 cases during the second quarter of 1964. Breaking and entering with theft was the most frequent delinquency and 16 such cases were referred during the quarter. Traffic offenses were broken down as follows: 14, acceleration contest; 2, mechanical defects; 8, no operators license; 11, speeding; 4, failure to control; 5, no safety sticker; 2, littering; 4, reckless driving; 3, improper turn; 2, stop sign; and 3, driving under the tnflu ence of alcohol. Three juveniles were committed to the state industrial school from Grand County during the quarter.
