God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe and all things must be brought into harmony with His will and be subject to His laws (Gen. 1:1; Matt. 721). All God's dealings with man are intended to bring about Bus end. But the trouble with man is that he prefers to walk by his own wisdom rather than surrender to the wisdom of God (READ Jeremiah 89). All God's dealings with man from the beginning have been to show that man's own wisdom has brought him to ruin. Therefore he must avoid it and seek die wisdom of God (Read Jeremiah 10:23). God has foretold that he will bring all the devices and inventions of human wisdom to nought by the things that seemed to men weak and foolish. Paul now gives us understanding by asking four questions ini Corinthians 1:20: "Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of Bus world?" We ask, where is the man with this world's wisdom who can surpass God? Look around in the world today... when is the writer who has produced from a wisdom of the world that which is superior to the wisdom found in the Scriptures? Where is the man in Bus world who has such power in discussion, in questioning, that he is supe- nor to God? The clear implication is Brat such a man cannot be found! God, in His wisdom, has made the wisdom of this world to be a foolish thing. Friends, many of you who faith- fully read these articles each week are allowing yourselves to follow the wis- dom of men. God plainly says in the Bible (His Wisdom) that bap- tism is one of the many things by which man is saved (READ Mark 16 16, 1 Peter 3.21). Who's wisdom is right; man or God? e Those of you in the many churches, here in Moab, Utah and throughout the world, are following the wisdom and false teachings of men by refusing to be baptized for the PROPER reason, i.e., to wash away your sins by the blood of Christ (Acts 2.38; Matt. 26.28). Those of you in the Catholic and Lutheran church are even refusing to be MERSED or buried in the water as the word baptism' demands (Col. 2:12; Rom. 6 4). Instead, your e n dom tells you and your infants to be 'sprinkled' with water. Loved ones, the churches of Christ know and believe that Jesus is the Savior (Matt. 1.21; cf. 1 Tim. 1.15). Wealsoknow that the Bibie says salvation... is IN Christ Jesus' (2 Tim. 2.10). So the question is, 'How does one get into Christ?" The wis- dom of God teaches that one is BAPTIZED into Quist (Rom. 6J, Gal. 327). Thus, one is SAVED when he is baptized because he is now IN Christ The wisdom of men (which is being followed by the majority in the religious world) teaches that baptism is totally unnecessary in God's Plan of Salvation. 'If you believe in Jesus just accept him into your heart by repeating after me this 'sinner's prayer;" says Billy Graham and other such false teachers. According to man's wisdom, as soon as the believer 'sinner's prayer" he is says this saved or bom again. Rubbish! How can one be saved or bom again if his sins have not been washed away? (cf. Acts 22.16; John 3.5). To be continue- dPlease SEARCH THE ABOVE SCRIPTURES and see whether these things are so (Acts 17.11). You are invited to attend any of our assemblies at 456 Emma Blvd. (Sunday 9 a.m, 10 a.m., and 6 p.m.; Wednesday: 7 p.m.). The churches of Christ are neither Catholic, Protestant, nor Jew.
