Drill Team sponsors Jr. Drill by Cricket Radcliff Drill Historian This week Grand County High Schools Drill Team put on a performance with approximately 50 Jr. Drill girls, age 3 years old to 8th grade. The girls danced at the halftime of the Oct. 1 5 Red Devil game against the North Summit Braves. The Jr. Drill team danced to a Halloween theme called made up and taught by the entire Drill Team. Not only are the younger girls getting a chance to learn a routine and perform it for a large crowd, but the experience encourages sportsmanship and team work. Junior Drill is a major fundraiser that the drilj team does yearly; proceeds help the Drill Team pay for the two professionally choreographed dances that they will use at competition up state. Starting on Oct. 1 8 the Drill Team will be learning their competition dances. The Devilettes have hired professional choreographer Shanna Endow, former United Spirit Association (USA) Instructor out of Idaho, to teach the dance routine the Devilettes will be using. The Devilettes have also hired Amanda (Walden) VanArsdol, of the Denver Bronco Cheerleaders to teach the Military routine that they will also be using up state. The Drill Team is thankful for all their local sponsors for their support, Pete and Joyce Parry, Milts, Key Construction, and the Poplar Place. They also recognize all the hard work that the Grand County High School Band and Sounds Grand have put forth to help entertain at our home games. The Drill Team will not be performing again until the start of the upcoming basketball season. e But you can still look forward to some great entertainment by the Red Devils Cheerleading Squad at the next home football game between our Mighty Red Devils and Gunnison on Oct. 21.
