Supporters of the initiative have garnered $698,000 in backing from J. Jorge Klor deAlva, a millionaire and former president of the University of Phoenix, the largest private, accredited university in the nation. at Moab. A property owner in Paradox has found herself fighting for her property rights after discovering a petition circulating in the valley seeking to open up an old stock trail that meanders in the middle of her 40 acre property. According to property owner, Ina Baughman, the stock trail has never been maintained and the petitioners have agreed that the trail isnt and doesnt need to be maintained. The group petitioning the opening of the trail only want to use it for recreation use. Ive found beer bottles, cans and trash all over the place, said Baughman. The plan looks at the possibility of adding passing lanes or widening the highway to four lanes, alternatives which would cost between $600 and $700 million. The T-- Times-lndepende- nt boost for the Red Devils. Dolores, Colo. Dolores historic Fourth Street bridge has a new home after approximately eight weeks on the sale block. Architectural and interior designer Molly Boyd, of Rico, presented her $501 bid to the Dolores Town Board last Tuesday and members unanimously accepted the proposal. Boyd said she n structure from one has an interest in taking an old, area and then moving it to another location for restoration. My interest in turning the bridge into an artists studio, she told board members. I want to give the bridge a new home and restore it. She said she would bear all the costs in moving the bridge.
