Show 12A Moab Happenings April 1997 MlrtoMWAWte CAN YON LANDS NATIONAL PARK VISITOR SERVICES & ACTIVITIES lf RESERVATIONS VOICE: FAX: The Reservation Office operates 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone calls are accepted 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Reservation requests by mail or fax ONLY are accepted for: all backpacking permits ($10); backcountry vehicle sites ($25); front country group campsites ($10 plus nightly camping fee); and vehicle day use in Lavender. Horse and Salt Creek Canyons in the Needles (S5 per vehicle). To confirm a reservation you must pay in advance; VISA and Mastercard accepted. Reservations are not available for individual front country campgrounds. I Visitor Centers (Effective thru May 25. 1997 ) INTERPRETIVE ACTIVITIES HORSESHOE CANYON: The Maze staff will offer scheduled walks lasting 6 to 7 hours into Horseshoe Canyon and the Great Gallery, every Saturday and Sunday, leaving from the WEST side trailliead at 9:00 a.m. Starting time subject to change, check with the Ranger Station at Hans Flat. The hike is a strenuous six and one-hamiles round trip. Water is not available. Visitors should bring at least one gallon of water per person and protect themselves from the sun. Large call the groups (over 20) must enter oil a guided trip Hans Flat Ranger Station.
