Fork Correspondent - NEPHI A motocyclist riding in sand dunes around 3 a.m. Saturday at Little Sahara State Park in Juab County was killed when he drove his motorcycle over a drop off, reported the Juab County Sheriffs Department. ;Juab sheriff s deputy Glen Wilde reported that the victim, Robert William Thomas, 22, of Roy was 75-fo- ot found by a riding companion. His body was taken to Central Valley Medical Center in Nephi. Juab county sheriff's department spokesman said Saturday afternoon there were several reports of accidents at the sand dunes, but no other serious accidents up to that time. A Provo Police Reporting Second Armed Bandit Within Same Week - ; ARMED ROBBERY Provo police are looking for a man who robbed the Minute Man, a gas and convenience store just after 2 a.m. Saturday. The store is located at 385 University Ave., Provo. The clerk who faced the robber told police he was on the phone when the man confronted him and said, "Hang up the phone, I have a .357 magnum." I Police investigators said the man reportedly demanded a bag and ordered the clerk to empty two cSsh register tills and left on foot southwest of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. The armed robber's ski mask was found outside. -The suspect is described as being a white male in his mid 20s, wearing a black ski mask and wjndbreaker. The incident was the second awned robbery in Provo within a v&ek. Police did not indicate the two robberies were related. IFATAL man was found dead in his pickup truck late Friday afternoon in a remote foothill alea west of Lehi and north of State Road 73. A Utah County Sheriff dispatcher said the man's body was taken to the state medical examiners, and authorities were not able to determine cause of death. The man's identity was not made pliblic, pending notification of next q kin. A Police Beat - ASSAULT One of four participant in a fight Friday night was injured by deer antlers. Provo police said four people got in a fight which involvedand weapons including a tommahawk, deer antlers and a baseball bat. One of the combatants was slightly injured by sharp antlers but was not hospitalization. Police who investigated the fight believed it erupted after a verbal confrontation over over music. The Commissioners made the proposal in a meeting Monday with Spanish Fork City representatives and state officials who have formed a steering committee to find a solution to the future of Thistle Dam. The proposal was one of three examined by the committee. Spanish Fork City officials said the three proposals are: Doing nothing at the damsite. Floating a $47 million bond.
