Area nurserymen belonging to the organization include Henry Savage, Tom Scholes and Kenneth L. Teames. Mr. Savage is a director at large for the organization and Mr. Teames is a member of the certification board, Mr. Teames explained the organization is trying to help nurserymen better serve their community. "We're generally involved in three basic areas of training. This includes plant identification, general nursery skills and landscape design," Mr. Teames said. He added that nursery skills include growing plants, understanding different types of soils, fertilizers pest problems and developing ability in salesmanship and proper display of merchandise, "The association holds eight seminars a year. Usually they are held in the Salt Lake area, but we are County planning to have four in Utah County during the year.
