Publisher B.E. (Bye) Jensen said the project which includes the building, real estate, and equipment-will get under way at once. all-ne- Ground-Breakin- g Groneman Construction Company of Provo, the building contractor, will break ground within the next 10 days on a site at about 1555 N. 200 W. Completion is scheduled in January. The present Herald building at 190 W. 400 N., built in 1957, is being offered for sale, Mr. Jensen said. In its new expansion and investment, the Herald once again is demonstrating its faith and confidence in Central Utah and its future growth, the publisher stated. "As always, we want to keep pace with the area's growth and be equipped to produce the best possible newspaper." Location for the new Herald building will be on the west side of Second West Street, just north of the new Mountain Bell Telephone warehouse and service center. The ground was procured from the Provo Brick & Tile Company. Brick Panels square foot structure, lacing east, will be of brick and concrete construction with a series of buff brick panels separated by sculptured concrete columns. The glassed entry will be at the southeast corner of the building. The business office, advertising department, news department and composing area will be fully carpeted and Decor for the interior will feature attractive colors, including one wall of wood paneling. Provision is being made for adequate parking for Herald employees and customers. Offset Process The photo offset production method planned by the Herald in its new building, is a radical departure from the old process which requires tha casting of lines of type and illustrations in metal and then molding each page into a metal cylinder to be placed on the press. With the Herald's new equipment,' all of the type, including news and advertising, will be composed on photographic paper which then is pasted up in page form.
