Show Inauguration Described to Bonheur Club j i t i O 1 5,, Watts, Mrs. Amy Valentine, a member of the club, delightfully entertained members with a report of the functions tnld during the Inauguration of President Nixon. Mrs. Valentine spent four davs In Washington, DC, and attended all the events of importance held during that time. She told of the charming tea for distinguished ladies held at the National Art Gallery, the fabulous gala at the armory with entertainment provided bv mmiF ft itet nnJ t.n micct. n t i as of the entertainment world, the Governors' Reception at" the Sheraton Park Hotel attended by tiie Governors of all the states, the reception for the Vice President held at the Smithsonian Institute and the mammoth, colorful parade down Pennsylvania Avenue. She enjoyed renewing acquaintances at the open house for Utahns and visitors held in Representative Laurence Burton's office. The highlight of all was the moving Inauguration Ceremony and the thrilling performance of Tabernacle the Mormon Choir, followed that evening by the spectacular Inaugural Balls held in six different loca tions in the city. Mrs. Valentine was privileged to attend the one held in the Smithsonian Institute at which all the dip lomats were present. Music at tlv'! particular ball was provid ed Dy the bands of Duke Elling ton and Guy Lombardo. Many interesting and humor ous personal experiences nected with each event were related, and she gave a vivid description of the many beauti ful gowns worn by the wives of the dignitaries, which was of special interest to members of the club. Mrs. Valentine expressed her appreciation at having the op portunity of making the acquaintance of the many im portant political figures present at the various events. A highlight of her trip was a visit with her daughter, Amy Lee, and family in Ohio on her return home.
