Show Calvin R. and Rhoda Jacobs to celebrate golden wedding ' 8' Calvin Ray and Rhoda Opal Jacobs will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 25 with a family dinner. Ray and Opal were married April 25, 1947 in American Fork. Ray grew up in Lehi and attended school. He was in the US. Navy during World War II. He then went to work at Geneva Steel. He retired in July 1986, after 40 years. Opal grew up in American Fork and attended school there until the family moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where she graduated from high school. She was a homemaker and then went to work for Alpine School District in the school lunch program. She is active in the LDS Church, serving in many positions. They are the parents of six children: Ronald, Rock Springs, Wyo.; Jack, Clyde and Linda (Mrs. Gary) Jolley, Highland; Shirley (Mrs. - 'I: C ' Free Press Wednesday, April 23, 1997 - Page 7 " 4 WPr. 1 &..- - 'f Mike) Currier, and Judy (Mrs. Bruce) Black, American Fork. The bride-to-b- e is a graduate of American Fork High School. She has attended Snow College and Utah Valley State College. She served an LDS mission to Scotland. She is employed at A Benefits in American Fork. The prospective groom is a of graduate Holgate School in Comprehensive Nottingham, England. He served in the Scotland Edinburgh LDS Mission. He will pursue a career in computer technology. The couple will make their first home in American Fork. Anthony, Idaho and American Fork. He retired from U.S. Steel after 34 years. Janet was born in Alpine. She attended school in Magna and American Fork. She worked at the Utah State Training School for 10 years. The Heaps are active in their church. They were sealed in the Provo LDS Temple in March of 1995. For more information on upcom- Trips are planned to southern Utah to see Tuacahn, to Antelope Island State Park and to Jackson The monthly hearing clinic will be held on Wednesday, April 30 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The trip to Masada has been changed to Wednesday, April 30. The tour includes a 1,500 feet underground tour of the mine shaft, with 1 train ride through a 3,200 foot tunnel. Cost of the outing is $17 per person, or $12 per person for those d who prefer to see the exhibit only. Payment must be made by May 5. Lunch is on your own. Time will be given to browse Park City and the nearby outlet stores. The Lehi Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and offers activities and programs for those 60 years of age and older. Cedar Fort residents are invited to participate in the programs and meals. A nutritious meal is provided by the Mountainland Association of Governments at a suggested donation of $1.75 per person and is served at noon. Reservations should be made by calling the center, one day prior to attending. Transportation is available to and from the center for 50 cents. To make arrangements to be picked up, call the center or driver Glen at least one day Wheeler, prior to needing a ride. The center has a treadmill and a stationary bicycle for exercise, a 768-716- piano and an organ, and two pool tables.
