Show Obituaries Additional obituaries on page 10 Paul Barratt Merrill F. Beck Merrill son, brother and uncle, was killed on Feb. 12, 1997 while traveling in South Africa. Merrill was born May 29, 1937 in Lehi to Bertrand and Verland Fowler Beck. F. Beck, beloved attended He Lehi Elementary, Lehi Junior High and Lehi High School. Merrill graduated from BYU and went on to earn his Masters and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Hawaii. He served an LDS mission in the North Central States. He taught at Orem High School for four years and then taught high school in California for two years. Elnora W. Citizen, Free Press, Review He went to Hawaii on a vacation and decided to stay. He taught high school in Hawaii for several years before being hired by Lee Ward Community College, where he taught and counseled for 24 years. Merrill dedicated his life to helping and serving others and has touched thousands of lives across the world. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by two brothers and one sister: Jerry (Maurine) Beck and Michael (Jan) Beck of Lehi; Barbara (Lee) Carlton, Sandy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Lehi. Anderson, both of Lehi; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Reed Barratt (American Fork), Lester Barratt (Pocatello), Mary Phillips (Salt Lake City) and Betty Smith in 1925 Burton, Idaho, son of James Hunter and Susan Sophia Hutchison Barratt. schools Paul attended in American Fork and graduated from American Fork High School, where he played in the orchestra and developed a great musical talent. The marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. He died Oct. 5, 1972. She Was a homemaker and raised her family on the family farm in Lehi. She was a member of the LDS Church and served as a two brothers and two sisters: Richard (Nancy) American Fork; Williamson, (Ann) Williamson, Stanley Pleasant Grove; Clara Houtz, Port Charlotte, Fla.; Dorothy Damico, Springville. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Maynard and Loraine Williamson. Funeral services were held Monday, March 31, in the Lehi South Stake Center. Burial was in the Lehi City Cemetery.
