' ! y a Literature Children's Association of Utah Book Award began in 1980 and at that time The Utah Children's Book Award had 20 books nominated in youth fiction and 0 books nominated in youth information. In 1987 the award was broken down into two categories, Utah Children's Book Award and the Utah Children's Informational Award. By 1991 Utah Young Adult books were added to the listing, making three books to be nominated, and about a year ago, the Utah Children's Picture Book Award listing was added. The selection committee is comprised of 15 men and women from the state of Utah, including Vernal, Cedar City, Weber County and along the Wasatch Front. He is attending Utah Valley State College and will graduate next year as a machinist technician. Cody and Amanda will make their first home in American Fork. No appointment is necessary. Wellness Clinic The monthly Wellness Clinic will be held from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. by appointment only. Free income tax help Waldo Cook, a tax volunteer, Sr. Citizen News vill be at the Lehi Senior Center Wednesday (today) and Friday, March 28 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Seniors will need to make an appointment for this free service by calling the center. Cook will review taxes or complete them at no charge to seniors. Participants should bring W-ajid 1099 statements, unemployment compensation statements, social security numbers for each dependent, the packet from IRS and Utah State Tax Commission and a copy of the 1995 tax return. The bride-to-b- e is the daughter of Ted and Glenda Peck of Lehi. The prospective groom is the son of Ron and Dairis LaFord, also of Lehi. The bride-to-b- e is a graduate of Lehi High School and LDS Seminary. She is employed Stream International in Lindon. The prospective groom is also a graduate of Lehi High School. He is employed with Crescent Electric Supply in Orem. The couple will make their first home in Orem. parents. Each member chooses a selection of books and presents them to the committee at the end of each summer. Approximately 200 different titles are presented. The titles are then divided into categories, such as science fiction, fantasy, informational, young adult, picture books, etc., and whenever a Utah author publishes a new book it is automatically put on the list, although that does not guarantee the Utah author will survive the final vote. Books that have received at least fifty good reviews go on for final selection. The final selection of books usually is ten to twelve books in each of the four categories. Camping opportunities will also be reduced in this canyon this year, including the closure of Diamond and Palmyra Campgrounds. Until alternative routes, such as Forest Service Roads 058 (Hobble Creek) and 051 (Sheep Creek) are free of snow, access to the canyon will be severely limited. For more information, contact the Spanish Fork Ranger District at Recreationists, seeking opportunities in Diamond Fork Canyon, will have to look elsewhere until enough snow melts, allowing access from above, according to Loyal Clark from the Uinta National Forest. Construction in the canyon is creating access problems. Clark reported, "The public is strongly encouraged to avoid Diamond fork Canyon as a result of the Central Utah Project pipeline construction, currently taking place." Cedar Fort residents are invited to participate in the programs and meals. A nutritious meal is provided by the Mountainland Association of Governments at a suggested donation of $1.75 per person and is served at noon. Reservations should be made by calling the cenone day prior to ter, attending. Transportation is available to and from the center for 50 cents.
