I Michelle Kathleen Evans, Damon Cole Nielson began working in Pittsburgh, Penn. He married Elizabeth B. Simmons in 1942. They became the parents of four daughters. In 1947 he graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering. He worked for the Atomic at the Commission Energy National Reactor Facility near Idaho Falls until his retirement. He and his family lived in Blackfoot, Idaho during that time. He has been very active in the LDS Church, having served as a bishop for four years and on the stake high council for five years in .
