Page Four Film festival has slew of media, movie bigwigs to conduct seminars selling reality on Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. by Fara Warner Extra Editor The problems of distribution of United States Film Festival isn't just films. It's seminars, Independent Australia, tributes, etc. The seminars will start off Jan. 1 8 with a -- The,-19S6i directing seminar given by Hector Babenco. Babenco directed Pixote and Kiss of the Spider Woman. The seminar will take place at 10 a.m. Tickets arc $15 for all seminars. In conjunction with the Sundance Institute's Screenwriter's tab at Sundance Resort, the Festival will present a roundtable discussion with several eminent writers. FILM Sterling VanWagcnen, vice president for programs at the Institute, will moderate writers Waldo Salt (Midnight Cowboy), William Witliff ( Country), Tom Rickman (Coalrntner s Daughter) Frank P. (Cool Hand Luke), and Frank Daniel, artistic director for the Institute. The seminar, "Case Study: Bobby Roth's Heartbreakers," will serve as a discussion time for the director Bobby Roth, actor Peter Coyote, and attorney Lee Muhl to voice their views on "the problems of marketing a film. The seminar will be held Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. On Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. "Meet the Press" will bring together reporters from Hollywood Reporter, Nexvszreek, Mademoiselle, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal and others. The seminar "Crossovers" will discuss the horizontal shifts that artists have taken in the area of film, music and video.
