Show THE Cook Of The Week Mr. and Mrs. Gale Welling of Fielding announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Debbie, to Gary Cleland. The future groom is the son of Mrs. Cyril Teague of Safford, Ariz, and the late Archie Geland. The young couple will exchange nuptial vows in a ceremony performed in the Ogden LDS Temple Saturday, August 6. That evening the newly-wed- s will greet guests at a reception hosted by the bride's parents, held at the Bowcutt Reception Center, 105 W. Main in Tremonton. The bride-eleis a graduate of Utah State University in Logan with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. For two years she was employed by the Box Elder About Christmas? By Flo Munson Now is a great time to think of Christ- For nothing can make a better Christmas gift than a bottle of special jam made from peaches which promise to be plentiful during the next few weeks. A recipe shared by Mrs. Max (Sherry Lund) McNeely is especially good because it's the kind that's not found on grocers' shelves. Sherry also shares other favorite McNeely recipes which are pleasing to the taste and not at all difficult to prepare. I found Sherry is a fun person to visit with. Her hobbies and talents seem endless-she delights in painting and sketching. She sings solo's, sings with groups and is a member of the ward choir. She plays the piano and organ, adores water skiing, has a knack for cutting and styling hair, does wall papering, enjoys wall paneling and it's hard to believe, but she actually built a rock wall (on what used to be their garage) all by herself it's an excellent job, but a talent she would rather limit to their own yard. Sherry was born in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder high school and LDS Seminary. She also attended Utah State University. Her eyes twinkled as she told me "I met dated-t- wo Max through a mutual friend-- we months, later we became engaged and five months from the time we met we were - married." "Our home was in Penrose for about six years before we built our new brick home in Thatcher. It's a split level and has four bedrooms," she added. The McNeely's have one daughter, Deb-r- a 19, who is a Junior at Utah State University. She is majoring in Elementary Education. During the past years Sherry and Max have made a home for two students from the LDS Placement Program. Sherry is presently serving as the organist in the Relief Society and is also a e teacher for eight special girls. Max is of the R&M 66 Service in Tremonton. He is fond of hunting and has an unbelievable trophy room, As a girl Sherry was employed as a car hop and waitress. She was also employed at Thiokol Corp. for ten years following Bee-Hiv- their marriage. "I love to cook" she said enthusiastically. "I enjoy baking and I do lots of canning: Max likes home made bread and I always have plenty of cookies for him to nibble on." She invites you to share the following recipes. Dance Slated County School District and is currently employed by the Thatcher Public Schools in Thatcher, Ariz. The prospective groom is a graduate of Safford High School.
