Brough enjoyed the company of her granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Gail Jensen and their children from Bountiful over the weekend. Also spending the weekend was her daughter, Caroline Rudd from Ogden. Mrs. Errall Bone who is adviser of the Drama Club at the high school announced that the try outs for the one act plays are this week. The plays will be "Wheat Fire," "Plucked Peacocks," "No Greater Love" and an original play written by Becky Hathoway, Jeanette Schlick-eise- r, and Kelly Summers. The plays will be presented March 31. Mrs. Austin's sister, and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Argile and three sons, from Clover, spent the weekend at Mr. and Mrs. Clavin Anderson's. ' Mr. and Mrs. Walter Burns made a trip to Bountiful Monday to visit Walters mother, Mrs. Eva Burns. A delicious Japanese dinner was prepared by Rodney and Carol Merrill of Garland. Mrs. Irene Morley officiated at the installation. New officers for the coming year are Mrs. Colleen Richards of Garland, president, Mrs. Linney Bourne of West Fielding, Richards, Mrs. LaRae Coombs, Mrs. Marian Grover and Mrs. Joan Hansen. Rodney Merrill showed slides and told of his experiences in Japan while serving there on a LDS Mission a few years ago. All young homemakers interested in joining the Bear River Chapter are urged to do so. The purpose of the Young Homemakers is to gain skills, leadership, needs and understanding to assist them in becoming better homemakers. This organization is affiliated with the Future Home-makeof America and the department of Home Economics. Meetings are held in the homemaking department at the Bear River high school the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. t; Mrs. Klea Scott of Fielding, secretary; Mrs. Ruth Ann Rose of Garland, historian, Mrs. JoAnn Udy of Plymouth, reporter. She is presently the vice president of the Bear River junior high PTA. She is past president of the Golden Spike BPW club and is now a district officer. "This is a very rewarding job because of the business women I have been able to meet in visiting other clubs in the state and the many things I have learned about working 'women," she said. She is also a member of the Credit Women International club of Tremonton. Mrs. Hawkes is active in the LDS church serving as a teacher in junior Sunday school in the Sixth Ward. She has worked in one capacity or another in the church for 25 years. She has also worked in the Cub scout and girl scout organizations and coached women's basketball, Softball and volleyball. She and her husband are parents of four children: Brad Hawkes of Tremonton, Craig Hawkes of Howell, both married: Irene, a senior at Bear River and Josie, a ninth grader at Bear River junior high. She also has four grandchildren. Mrs. Iris Hawkes of Tremonton has been named Business Woman of the Year by the Golden Spike Chapter of Business and Professional Women's Clubs. Mrs. Hawkes is the wife of Robert L. Hawkes. Presently employed at First Security Bank, Mrs. Hawkes, a club member, has been active in the business world much of her adult life. She was employed at Cal Gas in Tremonton for five years as a bookkeeper "which was really a learning process," she said. "I enjoyed that type of work very much." She then moved to First Security Bank serving as a in the insecretary-typis- t stallment loan department for two and a half years. Later she worked for Continental Telephone Company of the West at the state office in the engineering department for another two and a half years. Following that she returned to First Security to work in the Timeway loan department. She has been active civic affairs, holding offices in J Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hodges visited Ada Stander who is hospitalized in Ogden. Afterwards they shopped with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hodges. Mrs. Arnold Rhodes has returned from a ten day visit in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the home of her son, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Rhodes. Mrs. LeRoy Allred and daughter, Tami, spent last week in Bountiful at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Butler. Mrs. Erma Butler met Mrs. LeRoy Allred in Ogden Thursday where they enjoyed dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bowcutt were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fors-gre- n in Corinne Thursday evening. Other guests were Max Forsgren of Washington and Mr. and Mrs. Curt Hansen and son, Rusty of Corinne. Mr. and Mrs. Bowcutt enjoyed dinner in Ogden Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Don Limb spent the weekend visiting relatives and going through the Manti temple.
