I The United States Air Force Announces a Proposed Final Environmental Assessment for the Propellant Lab Located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah Winn (801) One Low Price 555 Value A LCSW me mm 3 I 1 708 Antelope Dr. Layton INSURANCE CAR0LIE MECCIC0, You." The Environmental Management Directorate, Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base (HAFB), UT, announces the availability of an Environmental Assessment (EA) and proposes a Finding Of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed action. The purpose of this EA is to evaluate the expansion and upgrading' of current capabilities and construction of a new test and analysis complex and demolition of eight (8) buildings located at the current propellant lab facility. The new propellant lab would include 21,500 square feet of building space, an underground storage tank (UST) and an approximate 10,000 square foot parking lot. Based on the results of this EA the proposed action would not have significant adverse effects on the human environment or any of the environmental resources described in the EA. Therefore, issuance of a FONSI is appropriate and preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement is not necessary. A copy of the document detailing the proposal is available for public examination at the HAFB Information Repository at the Davis County Library, Central Branch, Layton UT, and also at the NEPA web page http:em.hill.af.milconservationNEPAindex.htm Comments will be accepted until October 15,2001.
