At about 9 a.m. Tuesday, suspected terrorists crashed two hijacked commercial airliners into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, while a third collapsed a portion of the Pentagon shortly after. No casualty figures are yet available, but officials said they expect them to be very high. "America has stood down enemies before and we will do so this time," President George Bush said Tuesday in a televised address to the nation. "None of us will ever forget this day, yet we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world."
