' - - . , Air Force has recently reduced Headquarters Air Force Logistics Command Education Services funding by $378,000, according to Will Hedrick, Education Services Officer. "Reductions, in varying degrees, will be placed on each base education program within this command. The least severe restriction will be limiting the use of tuition assistance to one course per individual. Hopefully, this will be the most severe restriction required at Hill AFB, " explains Mr. Hedrick. "Education Services, in order to avoid more severe restrictions, is requesting that individuals taking classes during the summer quarter 1984, June 10, limit themselves to only one course per quarter on a voluntary basis. This will 18-Au- g. ob gg fflxo am S7QD help to ensure that more funds will be available for the fall quarter 1984 from Sept. 28 until Dec. 10 which is the biggest enrollment quarter of the year," he continued. Mr. Hedrick advises members to plan ahead for the possibility of these restrictions. If this request becomes mandatory, members may be required to fund any additional courses, over one, out of their own pockets. "If you have GI Bill entitlements, you may want to use it for the balance of this fiscal year. These education entitlements run out Dec. 31, 1989 and there is no indication that this status will change. If you are career Air Force and not planning to retire or separate soon, it would pay you to use these benefits so you will not lose this valuable resource," he said.
