John Evans 2849th Security Police Squadron There were three Crime Stop calls to Security Police, and thanks to concerned citizens, two suspects were .' apprehended. A suspicious person was reported by the resident of a home to be breaking into quarters, and police were able to catch the suspect. . New investigations Security police investigated six new thefts of government and private property this past week. The government property stolen included a parka, valued at $100, taken from an unlocked room in Bldg. 180. A government calculator was stolen e from Bldg. 15 Feb. 29. An theft of a mobility bag from a locked car in Riverdale was reported. Other property stolen included two separate thefts of rings. One valued at $90 was stolen from a sink top Feb. 29. The other incident reported two diamond rings and a watch missing from Bldg. 150. Also a purse was stolen from Bldg. 450 area March 2. off-bas- Vandalism Two incidents of vandalism were reported. The east door of Bldg. 520 was damaged, and quarters on Bedford Circle received a broken window March 1. Call Security Police investigations, Ext. 77892 to report any information about these incidents. tion Manager, Ext. 75534 or Program assists children Hill Field Elementary School and the 2849th Security Police Squadron Crime Prevention Managers are starting a program to help children handle emergency situations when they are away from home. This program, named "McGruff House," will consist of volunteer parents who will display a "McGruff House" sign on their homes to let'children know that they can go there for assistance in an emergency. The new program, which is also being conducted nationwide by other Security Police and school districts, will replace last year 's local Big Red "E" program. Parents seeking additional information about this program should contact the Hill Field or the Elementary School, Police Crime Prevention' Security Manager, Ext. A caller reported a suspicious person loitering around Bldg. 460, and again the suspect was taken in for criminal trespass and will appear in Federal Magistrate Court April 11. A report was made of a government employee driving on base with a suspended driver's license. Police responded but were unable to catch the individual. SrA.
