Stoddard 1954th RADES Unit Public Affairs Officer The Air Force Communications Command Radar Evaluation School recently graduated its seventh class. The school is conducted by the 1954th Radar Evaluation Squadron at Hill AFB and is designed to introduce students to radar evaluation principles and techniques. Frank Rakoczy, equipment technician and lead instructor at the school, teaches the main part of the course. Mr. Rakoczy initiated, designed, and taught the first six week class. The school's objective is to cram, in six weeks, radar evaluation methodol ogy theory that has taken experts years of experience to acquire. This training should result in one less field evaluation for the trainee, thereby putting more qualified people on the job sooner. Also available to the school is the Mobile Enroute Radar Facility which is on loan to the squadron from the Federal Aviation Administration! This radar equipment, along with a common digitizer and coderdecoder, allows for hands-o- n training to supplement the training required on actual evaluation trips. Mr. Rakoczy said, "People going through our school are getting a better understanding of radar evaluation than they were prior to the school's existence." on-the-j- CO IN ONE OF THESE BEAUTIFUL '83 CUSTOM VANS FROM ED KENLEY FORD!!
