Service credit is granted for leave without pay which does not exceed six months in any calendar year. If you are absent for more than six months, it is not considered a break in service, but is deducted from your service computation date (total creditable service) for leave accrual, reduction-in-forc- e and retirement purposes. . Who audits CFC funds? I have three questions concerning the Combined Federal Campaign I would like answered. They are: Who audits the CFC to assure that contributions go where they are designated? How are agencies screened for inclusion in the CFC? And, if an agency receives a large contribution through designated gifts, will it be excluded from a share of the undesignated contributions? Q . ; . . suggestions. Remarks are recorded 24 hours a day. All inquiries are personally reviewed by myself or our vice commander. Answers to anonymous inquiries can be obtained by calling the People Line administrator, Ext. 75305. Agencies participating in the CFC must meet the criteria prescribed by the Office of Personnel Management. Applications are screened at that office for International Service Agencies, National Health Agencies, National Service Agencies, International Red Cross and United Way Agencies. Local screening is accomplished for unaffiliated agencies and National Health and National Service Agencies to see if they meet the criteria. Some agencies are not as popular with the public as others, but they do meet the criteria. Designation to your favorite agency is strongly suggested. All agencies share in the undesignated funds except those that receive designated funds only. Designated funds are not counted in the distribution percentages. Many times I have to stand in long lines when I should be getting back to work. I suggest the credit union establish a system so that military members are given priority during midday, for instance, between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. A The charter of the FECU requires that it provide fair and equal service to all base personnel. If ventilation is inadequate, the building manager may designate it as a "No Smoking Area" as an interim measure pending correction of the problem. Bioenvironmental Engineering Services should be contacted to determine adequacy of ventilation. The base fire department (DETF) should be contacted any time strict smoking controls are not being enforced. If smoking privileges are abused on a recurring basis, contact the base fire chief, W.L.
