Show July Deceptive claims used in Texas counties land sales Land in the West Texas counties of Culberson and Jeff Davis is being offered for sale using false and deceptive claims about its value as an investment and as building sites, it is alleged. The Federal Trade Commission charged in a complaint issued in early May that three companies have falsely claimed that the land is a good investment and that it is suitable for homes, farms or ranches. The Commission issues a complaint when it has reason to believe that the law has been violated and that a proceeding is in the public interest. Such action simply marks the beginning of a formal proceeding in which the allegations will be ruled upon after a formal hearing. land-developme- nt i Three companies named 4 in the m HILL TOP TIMES 11, 1980 Page 35 fff o Pacific.
