In recognition of his contributions in this assignment, Mr. Taylor was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Peace Log Program Management Office, Detachment 30. The citation read in part: "In this important assignment, Mr. Taylor made g invaluable and long-lastin- contributions in the data automation area. The dedication and professionalism displayed by him have earned the deepest gratitude of the Imperial Iranian Air Force and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force." Mr. Taylor was also asked to manage the Air Force Logistics Command team houses in Tehran. His duties here were numerous and frequently frustrating. His commander, Col. Graham W. Rider, stated, "Nonetheless, he insured a house and comfortable living for all the TDY team." Looking back on the experience, Mr. Taylor found the Iranians to be a friendly, industrious people. "Iran's climate is similar to Utah's, smooth-runnin- g ski resorts included. "Women work in the shops and as secretaries and technicians for the military. About 65 per cent of them wear the 'chador,' a garment which covers the entire body, except the eyes.
