BROUGH An open letter to the Citizens of Juab and Millard Counties: It seems as though the extreme liberal and lef-wing elements never give up when they start out on a cause. What they cannot achieve on a national level, they are now attempting on a state and local level. For some time now, the far left in our country has been trying to obtain more controls and regulations regula-tions upon the use and sale of firearms. fire-arms. They have even gone so far as to proclaim the idea that all firearms should be registered. These same individuals ignore a basic and essential cornerstone established in Article Two of the Uuited States Bill of Rights which states: "... the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." I pledge to the residents of Juab and Millard Counties that, if elected, elect-ed, I will fight against any attempt, oo the part of any group, to pass legislation which denies, or interferes inter-feres with, the individual rights of our citizens. Furthermore, I will oppose control measures which levy discriminatory or punitive taxes or fees on the purchase, ownership or use of firearms. Additional controls con-trols on firearms will not keep guns out of the hands of undesirable persons. If I am elected to represent you in the Utah State Legislature, I will uphold the traditional and Con stitutional rights of American citizens citi-zens to own and use firearms for lawful purposes. I will conduct an all-out fight against the forces who are now attempting to take these rights away from us. Richard M. Brough Republican Candidate for State Representative (Paid Pol.
