LeRoy and Larry Walker of Orem come and deer hunt with him. Mr. and Mrs. Delynn Nielson and children were visitors of their mother, moth-er, Mrs. Twiss Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Olson and baby daughter and Miss Karen Olson Ol-son of S"lt Lake were visitors of their grandmother, Mrs. Mamie Anderson for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olson and children visited with Arthur's father, fath-er, Mr. Lafe Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Alden Nielson and family. Mrs. Amy Faust of Salt Lake, Gerald Finlinson of Denver, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Day of Fillmore, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Christensen of Delta visited in Oak City and came especially espe-cially for the funeral services of Eliza Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Peterson and family were visitors with Mrs. Aretta Peterson over the weekend. Miss Judith Finlinson of Spanish Fork visited her family and friends Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold 'albot of Kearns visited over the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Roper and children of Cedar visited in Oak City and Delta over the weekend. At the Willis Dutsons over the weekend were: William and Kay Dutson and children of Wendover, Mayvonne Dutson and Wilma Wix- om of Salt Lake and Oscar and Nell Pike of Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Dutson and children of Salt Lake visited their parents, Mr. .and Mrs. Burton Lovell and Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson. Gath Finlinson and Edgar Lovell are in California this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. John Brown of Cedar Ced-ar and EIRue Alldredge were home to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs Cliff Alldredge. Mr. .and Mrs. Onslo Nielson off Clearfield are visiting and hunting over the weekend. Students home from school this week are: Jack Seivewright, Kyle Jacobson, Sharon Stuart of CSU, and Newell Anderson, Clyde Pratt, Douglas and Kathy Smith from the BYU, Nola and EIRue from snow College and Paul Anderson, Weder. Many of the hunters are coming out without their deer so far. There are lots of hunters and the deer are scarce,, or more so than usual. DEDICATED Of course there are two more days and other places where the season lasts longer than in this area. Mr. Christian Anderson is having a week vacation from his Nev. Job and enjoying the visit with his fam ily and the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson were in Salt Lake Thursday where Melvin had another checkup with his doctor. Miss Joyce Watson of Delta is spending a few days visiting with Miss Cynthia Roper. Mr. and Mrs. A. Bryant Young Mrs. Grace Young and Mrs. Ernest Nielson of Richfield visited the Ellis Andersons Saturday afternoon. Mr. Allen Iovell and two sons, Douglas and David are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell and hunting. Mr. Steven Lovell and J.B. started on their hunt but soon returned as they discovered they had lost their mattress and guns. They back-track ed but didn't find their guns. Someone Some-one picked the mattress up & left it on main street where the boys found it but to date they haven't found their guns. Mrs. Ada Jacobson, Nancy Sheila and Delia of Provo and Cecil of Salt Lake spent the weekend espe cially for Ada's mother's funeral. SUTHERLAND MRS. HEBER ROSE Howard Bassett was home from CSU this weekend to go deer hunting hunt-ing with his father Bud Bassett. Mrs. Jacquie Hardy and four children Robert, Russell, Kevin and Penny spent the weekend with her mother Mrs. Beulah Bassett and her brother Scott while her husband Judd was deer hunting. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry (Paige) Haw-ley Haw-ley and children Sherrie Lynn and Buddy spent the weekend with parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Bassett and Mr. and Mrs. Med Hawley in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Wes (Carol Steele) Hardy were down for the deer hunt and to visit -with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Steele. John and Susan Lyman from the Y were here to visit with their folks Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lyman ,Carl, LouAnn and Ray. Laura Moody and her friend Miss Valerie Cleave were here to visit with the Thurman Moodys over the deer hunt weekend. Valerie is a granddaughter of Prof. Sargeant of CSU. Lee Tippetts and Richard Adams were here for the deer hunt and to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reid Tippetts and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Adams. Lee informed me that he and Richard were play-in play-in for the Halloween Dance at Dixie. Wayne Edwards is back in our midst again. He was not inducted yet. She informed us that Homer was ordained to the office of Bishop of the 15th Ward in Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Adams and children were there also for the occasion. Dorothy Sims of Delta, was a weekend visitor of Jolyn Bennett. To visit with the Clemont Bennetts also was their son Grant Bennett, from CSU. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Beagley and children were here from Cedar to spend the weekend with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bunker and Ulalia. They were here also for the deer hunt. A representative from the Utah Power and Light Co. from Salt Lake was here at Relief Society to give some new and different ideas on how to use electrical equipment and some new and choice ways of preparing foods and serving them. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Steele and Mrs. Steele's brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan Prows (Mrs. Prows is the former Fay Steele) made a trip together to Preston, Idaho. Main Richfield Speakers at Sacrament Meeting were Allen Lovell and Cecil Jacob-son. Jacob-son. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wilkerson and children of Granger visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson. The deer hunt was profitable for a few people. Leoyd Lovell bagged a mountain lion. Bryant Anderson got his buck plus a coyote. It is good to get rid of some of those predatory animals. LaMar Anderson and a friend from Payson spent a few days visiting vis-iting Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson had all their family home on Sun day to celebrate LeRoy's birthday. Mrs. Barbara Biack of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Anderson of Oak City, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wright of Delta, Mr. and Mrs. Monan Lovell Lov-ell of Uinta, Ronald of Santa Barbara, Bar-bara, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Call of Plain City, and Arlene and her fiancee, Harold Hickert, of Ogden. Mr. Kirt Vaundry and son Howard spent the weekend with the LeRov Andersons and hunted deer. Mr. J. L. Oliver of Sugarville found the guns lost by Mr. Steven Lovell and J. B. The Chronicle was notified early Monday by Mrs. Oliver Ol-iver to place an ad in the paper that the guns had been found. le there. They went through Logan Canyon to Randolf. It snowed so much they returned by way of Evanston, Wyo. They had planned to go to Flaming Gorge but there was a foot of snow so they had to postpone that trip until later. They stated that they almost froze it was so cold. The Steeles spent a day or two in Kanosh for the deer hunt. They were the guests of honor hon-or at the Sheldon Western home on Sunday to honor their grandson Mathew Steele on his birthdey. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Larsen of Provo were here over the weekend to visit with their folks Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnson. It was so good to see Thayne Henrie home for a day of two. Thayne is stationed at San Francisco. Fran-cisco. Thayne is an airplne mechanic mechan-ic and is doing good work. He has another stripe of his uniform. Lonnie Hales made his way back to the Hales home for the weekend for the deer hunt and to visit his parents. High Councilman Walter Ekins brought the program to Sutherland ward on Sunday. With Mr. Ekins was his wife and family and his daughter, husband and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bliss, Mrs. Hilton and her daughter, Mrs. Chdsten sen. Ricky Christensen and Karen Bliss sang, accompanied by Barbara Bliss. To visit with Mr. and Mrs. Win Walker were their children, Mr. and Mrs. John Walker and boys of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Walker of Salt Lake. They were here also for the deer hunt. Miss Annette Rawlinson from CSU was here to visit with her folks over the deer hunt weekend. To visit the Rawlinsons was Kyle Jacobson who is attending CSU too Mr. .and Mrs. Paul Johnson visited visit-ed with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson Ray, Karla and Betsy. Jim Corey was a visitor at Suther land on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Tolbert spent the weekend with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Turner and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Tolbert. Mr. John Curtis and children Cal and Bonnie were here from Minneapolis, Minne-apolis, Minn, to enjoy the deer hunt, or to learn how to deer hunt quoting Mr. Curtis. She didn't think it was a very good day because be-cause she and her little friend fell off a horse and Deaune was brused and pretty well shaken up. Hope she feels better soon. Margaret is feeling some better, but is still unable un-able to be in the store. Mr. and Mrs. Will Lovell and Mrs. Fern Willden spent the weekend with Bud and Margaret and girls. Little Jimmy Lovell, son of Jer-ald Jer-ald and Wilma, fell off a horse last Sunday and broke one of his arms. Hope the little fellar feels better soon. Raymond, Lynn and Kenneth weere home from various colleges also, over the weekend Mr. and Mrs. Kay Lovell spent the weekend with parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaForge Lovell and family. Mr. and Mrs. David Nielson and boys of Logan are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Nielson and Arda's parents in Primary Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Callister ffrom CSU were here over the weekend to visit with their folks Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Hatch and Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Church of Cedar were here to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Erickson and Mr. and Mrs. Ned Church. Also to visit with the Erick sons were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Erickson and children of Sunset. Among the ladies from this area who went deer hunting with their husbands were Mrs. Lorene Smith and Mrs. Norma Jensen. Mrs. Nina Johnson returned home after staying with the May children child-ren while their brother Douglas was having surgery. Congratulations to Leon and Na-dine Na-dine Smith for their new little son. Bishop and Mrs. Melvin Hepworth were here to visit over the weekend It was so good to see and wave to our good neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clayton and Penny Jo who were here for the deer hunt and to visit with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clayton and Mr. and Mrs. Van Warnick. Mr. Kenneth May and Mr. and Mrs. Jay May and child, Mr. Richard Rich-ard May and two children, David and Kathy, of Fredonia were here for the deer hunt and to visit with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Morgan May. Also to visit with the Mays were Emalee and Judy from CSU. Darleen and Dale and their child ren made a trip to New York. Mrs. LaRue Rigby, a cousin of Darleen's, knew they were coming and also knew it to be Darleen's birthday so had a special birthday cake made in her honor. LaRue is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson. It seems there is a special club around Sutherland known, by Its appearance that is, as the "Black Eye" club. Several people around this area have come out with black eyes from accidents. Miss Judy Owens, who is attending attend-ing LDS Business College was home overe the weekend to visit with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Owens Miss Edith Olson of Spring City was a weekend visitor of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson Lu Wanna and Richard. David is still engineering training. Lenord Owens, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Owens was here over the weekend to visit with his family Mrs. Blanche Ferry and son Bern-el Bern-el have moved into the "old Acker man" place across from the Glen Rawlinson home. Mr. Vernon Anderson and some of his boys of Murray were also here for the deer hunt. Von Clements and two boys of Payson and Jay and Joan Grygla and son of Sandy and Lee were home over the weekend doing some hunting and visiting with mother, Clara Johnson. Lee went to Salt Lake last Tuesday with Jay to see his doctor for a checkup. Raye and Bud Nielson and friend Gary of Logan were here over the weekend doing some hunting, but no luck. Glen Harder and son of Sunset were here Monday and Tuesday to visit with Mr. Al Harder and Dean and Mable and family, also do a little hunting. The Mutual held a Halloween party last Tuesday night for the young folks of the town. Marsha Hansen, Gayl and Inez Nielson of Salt Lake were home over the weekend. Ray Johnson is home from Nephi hospital after being hospilalized for a few days and feeling some better, but for an awful bad cold. Elaine and Ray went to Provo Monday for a checkup at the Clark Clinic. Elaine is getting around on crutches and in a wheelchair and feeling a little better but still not good. Hope they get to feeling better soon. People sporting new trucks in town are John Nielson, Grant Nielson Niel-son and Walker Finlinson.
