Show Millard County Chronicle Thursday, October 27, 1965 LYNNDYL LAURA BHADFIELD Congratulations to Jim Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nielson on being elected president of the Freshman class at the BYU. Also wish to congratulate Jackee Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nelson for being 'teen of the week'. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins went to Richfield Friday and got their grandchildren, Debbie and Leland Baird so their parents could go deer hunting. They took them back Sunday afternoon. At the Carl Benson home for the deer hunt was their son Don and family from Salt Lake. Mrs. Lucille Nielson received word of the birth of a granddaugh ter born to Mr. and Mrs. Leon Nielson Niel-son of Sandy, Friday, Oct 21. Lucille went up to be with Leon and the other children while Jean is in the hospital. The new baby has one older sister and brother. Wendell Nielson was driving home from school in St. George Friday Fri-day for the deer hunt, when a deer ran into his car causing consider able damage. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Overson and son of Provo spent the weekend hunting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Overson. Laurence and Don Bradfield went to Scipio Saturday and hunted deer with their uncle Vernon Bradfield. They didn't get their deer that day but they did have a nice visit. Mr. and Mrs. Aralda Jones and boys went to Payson for the deer hunt, Aralda and boys came home Sunday but Katherine stayed in Payson to help her grandmother this week. Lucille Johnson is in Cedar with her mother Mrs. Frank Casin this week. Mr. and Mrs. .Ralph Overson and boys of Bountiful, and Keith Over-son Over-son of Provo were home with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. .Louis Over- son for the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson went to Thousand Oaks, California last weekend and visited their children, Ray and Cloreen Greatwood and family. Mike and Jane Nelson Stanworth of Roy and Ann and Kay Nelson from Logan were home over the weekend with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nelson. Laura Bradfield and Lois Bradfield Brad-field visited in Oasis last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Petersen. Blaine and Kent Nielson were home to hunt deer with their father Reed Nielson, they also attended Sunday School in our ward Sunday. Dave and Paula Simpson Hans of Murray were home over the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins attended at-tended funeral services in Oak City Monday for Mrs. Eliza Anderson. The ladies of Lynndyl ward gave Beverly Dutson a baby shower Mon day night. A large crowd attended and she received many nice things. From out of town were her mother, Mrs. Rassmusen and an aunt ,of Fillmore. The MIA is sponsoring a ward Carnival next Saturday night. Everyone Ev-eryone is invited to attend. There will be a fish pond, bingo, cake walks and etc. for everyone to enjoy. en-joy. FOR PROPOSITION NO. 2 Whereas the thirty-sixth Legislature of the State of Utah deemed it necessary neces-sary to call a convention to revise or amend the Constitution of the State of Utah and has recommended that the electors vote at this election for or against a convention; therefore vote either. FOR A CONVENTION AGAINST A CONVENTION PROPOSITION NO. 3 Shall Section 3 of Article VII of the Constitution Con-stitution of the State of Utah be amended to allow the state auditor and the state treasurer treas-urer to be eligible to serve for not more than two successive terms rather than the one term now allowed? FOR AGAINST PROPOSITION NO. 4 Shall Article VI of the Constitution of the State of Utah be amended by the addition Section 33, authorizing each house Legislature to appoint committees to serve between be-tween legislative sessions as well as during sessions, and to provide for the staffing and financing of said committees? FOR tlon of I j of the I 1 AGAINST PROPOSITION NO. 5 FOR Shall Sections 2 and 16 of Article VI of the Constitution of the State of Utah be amended to provide for annual sessions of the Legislature consisting of a general ses sion of not to exceed forty-five legislative days in odd numbered years and a budget session AGAINST or not to exceed twenty legislative days in even numbered years. This proposal would replace re-place a sixty calendar day session which now meets every other year? PROPOSITION NO. 6 FOR Shall a new section be added to Article of the Constitution of the State of Utah to authorize the Legislature to call itself into special session upon the written request of two-thirds of the members of each house? AGAINST PROPOSITION NO. 7 Shall Section 9 of Article VI of the Constitution Con-stitution of the State of Utah be amended to provide that members of the Legislature receive a salary for their services in the amount of one thousand dollars per year, unless un-less otherwise provided by law, and receive an allowance for expenses and mileage, as fixed by law when attending committee meetings of the Legislature held between sessions and when otherwise engaged in official business? FOR AGAINST PROPOSITION NO. 8 FOR Shall Section 13 of Article VII of the Constitution Con-stitution of the State of Utah be amended to abolish the board of examiners, which is comprised com-prised of the governor, the secretary of state and the attorney general. This board now has AGAINST the duty to examine all claims against the State of Utah and to perform such other duties as are 'prescribed by law? Engaged Mr. and Mrs. William A. Morten-sen Morten-sen of Delta announce the engagement engage-ment and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brenda to Joseph H. Millard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence B. Millard of Clearfield, Utah. Miss Mortensen is a graduate of Delta High School and Mr. Millard is presently employed at Thiokal Corp. The couple is planning a Nov. wedding and will reside in Ogden. Sugarville VENICE DAVIS Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz made a trip to Salina, for a visit with relatives. Kent Shurtz and daughter, Joan, of Salt Lake came down for the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Issac Losee and Hilda Oliver made a trip to Provo for doctor appointments. Issac had a bad eye infection, but is now well again. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sill of Ogden stopped in to visit his old home, as he lived here many years ago. His father was our first Presiding Elder of the Sugarville branch. He visited friends, Mr. and Mrs. Issac Losee and families. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Davis and Micheal and Mr. and Mrs. Verlyn Gosch and baby visited with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis and the men took in, the deer hunt, they returned return-ed home Sunday evening. Hazel Hill and sister Nancy Richardson Rich-ardson of Ely, Nevada are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Terry had visiting visit-ing them and for the deer hunt, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Terry and family, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Terry and family, of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Devon Roper and family of Phoenix, Ariz. Ronnie Oliver and son of Salt Lake visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Oliver and Larry and took in the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. .Art Hill entertained last Sunday with a dinner for the relatives visiting here, twenty one people had turkey and all the trimmings. Mrs. Venice Davis had an all day quilting at her home Wednesday for the Relief Society. Twelve quilters attended. Chuck Greene returned to Jerome Idaho Sundey after his physical of 100 he will work there until Uncle Sam calls him to duty. Linda Losee and Barbara Losee from College, came home for the weekend. Linda came from St. Geo rge and Barbara from Cedar. The Primary is giving a Carnival Halloween party Oct. 31 at 6:30 everyone is invited. Supper and goodies will be sold, come out and have some fun and games. Mx. and Mrs. Rom Shields have been visiting in Idaho with their children for the last week. They live in Delta, but we still claim them. Ward Moody and his wife Inez Moody gave our program in Church Sunday. We enjoyed it very much. First Yard News Mr. and Mrs. Levi Gifford and daughter , Julie of Jerome, Idaho, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Rom Shields from Thursday to Sunday. Speaking at Sacrament meeting Sunday evening were High Councilman Council-man Harold Jensen and Elder Lon-nie Lon-nie Hales, recently returned mission ary. Both were interesting. Several college students were home for the weekend and for the deer hunt. Some of those home were: Dale Roper, Harold and Don Maxfield, Kathleen Church, Bob and Lynette Riding. Weekend visitor with Bob Riding was his college roommate, Fraser Buck. Mr. and Mrs. Fera Little of Riverside, River-side, California have been in Delta visiting with friends and relatives. They are exepected to return to their home Thursday (today). Overnight visitors Friday night, at the home of Mrs. Norma Wright was her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Morgan and four children of Moses, Lake, Washington. Washing-ton. They were enroute to Salt Lake where Don would be attending attend-ing a meeting of the Northwest Ass'n of Junior Colleges. Don is secretary of the ass'n. The Relief Society is sponsoring a baked ham dinner and rummage sale Wednesday, November 2. 6:30 p. m. at the ward cultural halll Prices will be $150 and $1.00 for the dinner. Bazaar items go on sale at 8:00 p. m. On November 11, the Relief Society Soc-iety will cater the Veterans Day Banquet, sponsored by the American Ameri-can Legion Auxiliary. |
