Show Pleasant Grove Review New Utah - Thursday, July 10, 2003 - Page A Pleasant Grove police officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle which had burned its tires at the stop sign and upon closer investigation he found the vehicle had an expired registration. The officer stopped the vehicle and began issuing a citation when a police canine search was conducted on the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, the officer found a small broken glass meth pipe that field tested positive for methamphetamine. The driver was booked into the Pleasant Grove police department. Police responded to a northwest Pleasant Grove residence resi-dence where a theft had been reported. The owner had been working on his home, making preparations to move in. When his wife showed up the following day, she noticed the garage door open, but had not been left open by the owner. On closer inspection, the owner noticed that a screen from a front window was missing. Several power tools, a computer, a CD player and a PlayStation were missing, miss-ing, total value $3,335. No suspects or witnesses available avail-able at this time, but a neighbor reported that he noticed a red Chevy truck in the area the night of the incident. In addition, during the week of June 30 to July 6: ; A Pleasant Grove police officer responded to a residence res-idence in Pleasant Grove in reference to a possible domestic dispute. One male individual was arrested for assaulting his sister with a belt. A southeast Lindon resident reported that her daughter's horse trailer had been damaged by paint-balls. paint-balls. A mail box in east Lindon was reported damaged, possibly by exploding. No further information available. A northwest Pleasant Grove resident reported that someone had broken the back passenger window of her blue 1990 Jeep Cherokee. Extra patrol will be in the area as requested. A car window was shot out of a 1996 Dodge with a pellet gun in northeast Lindon. A pressure washer and a lawn mower were reported report-ed stolen from a southwest Lindon residence. Golf clubs valued at $100 were reported stolen from a northeast Pleasant Grove garage. A stereo, speakers and amplifier, total value $677 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in northwest Lindon. A burglary was reported on North Canyon Road in Pleasant Grove. Stolen were plants, clothing, dishes, books, records, paintings, videos, various knick-knacks, garden tools, a deer skull, and prints, total estimated value $6,300. A northwest Pleasant Grove resident reported that her son's motorized GoPed scooter valued at $500 was stolen. It was last seen on the front sidewalk of the res idence. A spare tire valued at $150 was stolen from a Pleasant Grove business. In each case the end result has been the removal of the monument from city property. He felt even though the city did not instigate the monument placement, it still violates the first amendment. "Once the city accepts that gift from the Eagles, it becomes an endorsement. On government property it gives the appearance of endorsement," said Barnard. The CB Jazz Band will perform a variety of Big Band tunes. While most of the tunes come from the "Big Band Era" of the '40s, the CB Jazz Band will also perform several hits from more recent times. This year's concert will include vocal numbers. Two quartets will perform with the band, including "Blue Moon," "Chattanooga "Chat-tanooga Choo Choo," "Zoot Suit Riot," and "Jump, Jive, and Wail." Other popular numbers include "Ain't Misbehavin'"and "Queen Bee." CB stands for "Community Band" and "Cool Band." The 20 members come from throughout Utah County.
